Restricted Access Area Within the basement of a restricted access office building lies a laboratory sponsored by the Galactic Alliance. This multi-level section of the building boasts some of the most up to date technology for performing a number of secretive experiments meant to allow the Galactic Alliance a better control over the galaxy. Heavily guarded and constantly monitored entrance to the laboratories ensures that only those with permission to enter gain entry to this facility. Guards occupy each floor of the laboratory to oversee and protect the scientists and their work. Computer and testing equipment litter the first floor of the laboratories. The majority of experiments are conducted on the first floor. Although testing can happen on this or any other floor based on the intention of the experiment. A large room in the back of the floor offers as a place to hold meetings with important visitors or to privately discuss features of an upcoming experiment. Rows of cages to hold prisoners line the sides of the second floor. Ysalamiri hang around those cages to prevent any use of the Force abilities. These cages are relatively small but can semi-comfortably hold most sentient beings until they are no longer needed. Tables are laid out around the room to contain those prisoners who are currently being experimented on. Several computers line the far side of the room to allow quicker access to research data as needed. The third floor contains several large cages to hold species which are too large and dangerous to be held on the second floor. The beasts here are often kept sedated to prevent any injuries to the scientists as they perform their tests. Tranquilizer guns are always within reach around the room to ensure that any beasts outbursts are quickly subdued. The fourth floor is the main storage of the facility. However it also serves as a holding place for those experiments that may not have gone quite to plan or those that were successful and are waiting to be fully implemented. NOTE: Those who are granted access to the laboratories must travel through an extensive decontamination process to ensure that no contaminants are brought into the labs. Anyone found bringing in a biological contaminants will be brought to a secret portion of the labs for thorough "Examination."

Tension within the labs was at an all time high. Not only was Lila making her weekly rounds of inspecting the underlings of her precious laboratory, but within the coming weeks she was expecting not only great results with her most recent project, but also a visit from the Chief of State to check on the progress of said project. With hands clasped behind her back Lila paced up and down the rows, stopping momentarily at each workstation to check the current data entries of one of her assistants. Each seemed to tense up just a bit as she stopped to stand over their shoulder.
"Janson what is wrong with you? Can't you even get a simple data entry done right."
Janson shrunk at her words. Having her stand behind him was just enough to make him misclick the keys entering one number incorrectly.
"I'm sorry Doctor. It won't happen again."
"You're damn right it won't. Or else you will find yourself volunteering for my next experiment." She paused glancing at the other assistants who had now stopped working to see the outcome of this. That glance sent them back to work, entering their data much faster and of course more accurately than they had been. "And I don't mean you will be heading it either. You will be playing the utmost of important rolls in it."
Janson returned to his work as she walked away. Ensuring that each entry was done properly but quickly, as he knew Lila was on a tight schedule to get things done. Especially with the Chief of State coming to check up on their progress with many of their current projects.
A female assistant came out of the turbolift as Lila finished her current inspection of the line of data entries. Jessinia was carrying a armload of files from the last few weeks of experiments leading up to their main project, the one that would either make or break all of their careers.
"Set them down over there." Lila said to her top and favorite assistant. Jessinia had never made a mistake in the time Lila had known her. And she doubted that would ever happen.
Jessinia did as instructed laying the data pads and files on a large table. Assorting them by data and file number she then hurried off to her next duty, knowing the tight scedule they were all under now. They would all be working extra hours now, and if they were lucky they would be allowed to leave the labs in the next week or so. But all that was based on their performance and the results of their current battery of tests.
Lila moved to the table, smiling to see that the files were laid out just as she had wanted. No other assistant of hers would take the time to sort them out. They would merely lay them on the spot she indicated and walk away before they deemed themselves in the way. Picking up the most resent file she skimmed the information, paying particular attention to the results of the current variant of their main focus. Things were moving along quickly, but not quickly enough to her satisfaction. They would need to work harder to ensure more solid results for when the senators and most importantly the Chief of State arrived. She rubbed her eyes, she was tired, the words on the file blurred slightly, but she was determined to get this portion of her work done tonight before she succumbed to sleep.

After a long night of reviewing the earliest results of Project Nullify. The results of blood tests through vials of blood were beginning to have good results however it was time to move along and begin tests of their laboratory guests. Picking up the file of the last blood test attempt she went off to go produce a new sample of the serum.
The labs were already in full swing even though it was still the early hours of the morning. All the assistants snapped to attention as Lila entered the room. After a wave of her hand they returned to their work, all except Jessinia, she knew that Lila would be wanting her help for today's experiment.
"I need a double sample of 07834-AFS2. It's time to move this project along. We don't want to disappoint the Chief of State do we?"
"I'll have it made at once." Jessinia said as she hurried off to the nearest work bench. Mixing vials of this fluid and that.
Lila walked over to the containment units of the Force sensitives that were held in. She looked in at the gaunt faces, pale skin and overall pathetic look of their prisoners. A frown crossed her face. She turned back to the room of assistants spotting Talin nearby.
"Talin!" She shouted.
The young red haired woman ran over to where Lila was standing. Too afraid to say anything she merely looked as close to Lila's face as she could bare.
"Look at this." She pointed to the men and women in the cells. "Do you see anything wrong here?"
Talin glanced into the cells and then back at Lila. "No Doctor Chade." She stumbled over the words.
"No?" Lila's face nearly turned blood red. "When was the last time they were fed? Perhaps you don't understand that you need to keep your test subjects alive in order to preform your experiments! You are to feed them right now or so help me you will not be working here any more. And don't think you can run to your daddy to get this job back. His reputation may be impressive, but yours is something to be desired."
Talin was almost in tears as Lila chewed her out. She couldn't wait to get away from her. "As you wish Doctor. She hurried off to gather some food for the hostages.
"Is that serum ready yet?" Lila shouted across the room to Jessinia.
The answer came as Jessinia carried the vial and a needle. Together they walked over to cell number one. Inside was a young girl, only around seventeen years old. She looked scared and half starved to death.
"This one will do nicely." She said to Jessinia. She turned back to the main lab for a moment. "Janson remove the Ysalamiri from cell one, I don't want it interfering with any of the results. And start the recording."
Janson hurried over to the remote that raised and lowered the Ysalamiri near the cells. Flipping the switch the mechanism that help the Ysalamiri above cell one raised so that its affects would not reach the one contained inside. One that was done he walked over to a computer console and entered the code to start the video recording for the camera located near cell ones entry. This would produce both a live stream and a record of visual results of the serum.
Lila and Jessinia then entered the cage, the young girl curled closer into the corner but appeared to have no fight left in her. Lila grabbed the girls arm as Jessinia filled the syringe with the serum. Finding the girls vein she injected the serum. The girl merely wimpered and then pulled her arm free once Lila's grip loosened.
"I want a blood sample taken every half hour. We don't know when this will kick in." Lila turned and headed out of the cell leaving Jessinia to clean up and follow her out. "And make sure that sorry excuse for an assistant Talin feeds them."
"Of course Doctor." Jessinia said as she closed the cell door behind her. She immediately began to write things down, the time of the injection, the dose, age, weight and height of the tester. All important details that could have an affect on the outcome of the experiment.

A full seventy two hours had passed since the injection of test subject one. So far there were no visible signs of changes within the young woman. Jessinia had done as instructed and taken blood sample every half an hour. The samples were labeled and stored for Lila to look at. Jessinia was about to take another sample when Lila walked up behind her.
"Don't bother. There is no reason to continue with her. The blood samples don't lie."
Jessinia nodded and closed the door of the cell again. She followed Lila into the main room, glancing at the others as she entered.
"Take a look at this." Lila said as she motioned to the microscope.
Jessinia looked through the eye piece at the sample. The blood cells appeared as normal as before the injection, however there was a thin coat of the serum surrounding the midi-chlorian but it did not penetrate or affect it in any way.
"It appears that the serum hasn't found its way into the midi-chlorian. We need to adjust the mixture to force it inside the cell and not just have it surround it."
Lila smiled. She star pupil had once again shown why she was the head assistant and not some meaningless underling that would be worth more as a test subject than a helper.
"Good eye. Be sure that it gets done. I want the next serum ready by this afternoon."
Jessinia nodded and went off to see to her duties. Lila on the other hand went over to inspect the goings on of her less favored assistants. The of course tensed as Lila approached but none the less continued their work as best they could with Lila looking over their shoulder.
-------------
As afternoon approached Jessinia had finished the changed to serum 07834-AFS2. This time she was hoping for it to at least penetrate the midi-chlorian. It would be a start at least, though having the serum do what it was intended to this time would be a greater result.
She went to Lila's office, knocking on the door she entered after moments hesitation.
"The newest serum is ready. We can test 07835-AFS3 once you are available."
Lila put down the data pad and slid away from her desk. Leading the way to the cells she called over to Janson.
"Raise the Ysalamiri and start the recording."
This subject was a a middle aged man who glared at the woman as they entered the cell. He, however, did not put up a fight. He volunteered his arm to the woman knowing that there was no way he could survive this if he fought things. If the scientists didn't stop him the guards would certainly use lethal force. Once the injection was complete the two made their way out of the cell.
"Half hour blood samples, visual observation and make sure they are fed." Jessinia said with a smile on her face, beating Lila to list of things to do.
Lila smiled, again Jessinia had proven herself as a head assistant.
"I will check in with you in an hour." She turned back to her office. "There is something I need attend to first.

There was a worming presense going through the security system. Traveling through the Holonet as well as more local means it was working toward getting a passive view on all security measures without being noticed. If the worm was traced it would be found to be originating from a server acoss the planet, and from there to an innocuous shipping company, and then and multiple companies that probably did not even know it to the GA Inteligence Headquarters. Of course, if the worm was found it would be reported to the same agency that created it which would allow them access to the building and put in even better access to the cameras and audio receptors.

The cyber-presense succeeded in gaining access to the camera units on first and fourth floors. The second and third floors were a bit harder to do but the intel operative continued to work on them from their own building. The agents were attempting to hijack the signal and send a copy to themselves to be viewed at their leisure and then send the original on to its original location without any of the guards watching the screens noticing a difference. All of the signals were being sent to a computer in the GAIS HQ building that was kept seperate from the intel network just in case the signal was back tracked as far as there.

Daz cracked his knuckles and rolled his neck a few times as he sat down to at his favorite place - his computer desk. Dax was a nerd in every sense of the word - he wasn't particularly good looking and tended to ramble about things no one else found interesting and he wore glasses for an eyesight problem he kept meaning to get fixed but never quite got around to.
He'd been assigned to the labs in order to make sure all the systems continued to function smoothly and Dr. Chade's well oiled machine was not interrupted by any technical failures - be that in the testing equipment or the day to day operations of the lab, including the security systems, which was todays project.
Dax whistled slightly to himself as he made his way into the labs systems, running diagnostics on video quality, signal strength and other such mundane tests to ensure nothing needed to be replaced or repaired. He really wasn't expecting any problems and so was somewhat surprised when the system reported a small degradation in the signal strength from the camera system - why it was almost as though the signal was being sent farther then it truly was hich made absolutely no sense at all.
Dax frowned slightly and decided to investigate further, pinging a diagnostic signal through the line to see just where things started to go wrong, what he found astonished him...the signal was going farther then it was supposed to..because someone had set up a split in the line, sending a copy of the data elsewhere. Dr. Chade would not be happy. He commed her immediately.

Having just finished a conference with an old colleague who had insisted on speaking with her for some unknown reason Lila was extremely irritated to have her comm go off. There was important work to be done with her research and now that damn tech Dax wanted to speak with her. This had better not be another one of his attempts to get her up to speed with all the technology found within the labs. That speech was getting old and she didn't care what model number the computers were, she only needed them to run properly.
Picking up the comm she listened to his rambling, at first it sounded like every other time they had talked. Something about this system and that. But then something caught her attention. Fear ran through her and she quickly flicked off the comm and raced to where Dax's station was.
"What is the meaning behind this Dax? How could this have happened?"
She was pacing nervously behind his chair. Her normal overly intimidating presence was now a bundle of nerves that made her appear like one of her fearful underlings. She couldn't let anything happen to her project, not now, not when they were on the verge of making major progress.

Dax attempted to tell Dr. Chade what had happened in laymen's terms - she never responded well to a bunch of technical jargon it seemed and his efforts must have paid off because no sooner had he finished his spiel then the connection had gone dead and she'd burst into his office like a ronto on uppers.
Dax was nervous..because while he was used to dealing with Dr. Chade in her typical 'I don't have time for you' gruff manner this pacing bundle of nerves was something completely different and Dax thought his response over carefully.
"I"m not sure how they got in Doctor - and I could try to track the signal but it will probably prove pointless, if they were smart enough to get in then they are probably smart enough to hide their tracks - its really only luck that I decided to run this diagnostic today, otherwise we might never have noticed it - the signal degradation isn't enough to cause a noticeable difference on the guards screens.." He trailed off knowing that he was once more starting to fall into the technical type of conversations the Doctor abhorred.

Her anger rose slightly as Dax went into his explanation on how trying to trace the source was useless. This wasn't what should be happening. This lab was supposed to be a well oiled machine, with nothing ever going wrong. But this new development was a major hitch, she couldn't just let whoever had gained access to the security system to just have unlimited access to her precious information. Action needed to be taken immediately. She stopped her pacing and leaned close to Dax, once again being the intimidating person she was known to be.
"Shut it down Dax, all of it. Audio, video anything they have access to. I will not allow them to have a front row seat to my experiments and steal my research."
She stood straight again, crossing her arms and hovered behind Dax like she does when inspecting her assistants entering data. He would preform the shut down with her standing here or so help him he would be a new addition to their experimental line.

Dax took one look at Dr. Chade as she leaned close and uttered her orders before turning back to his computer."Yes ma'am" He answered fingers rushing across the keys as he did as she asked. Dax shut don everything that could be used to moniter the actions in the labs but left active the more passive moniters and alarm systems to ensure the Labs still remained a secure location.
"If I might make a suggestion Doctor? It might be wise to remove the cameras altogether - in case they attempt to turn them on remotely - I'm not really sure just what their program is capable of..."

"Yes, yes, see to it immediately Dax."
She turned to leave but then stopped short.
"We will need a way to record the sessions as I continue my work. Something completely independent from the security system in case they manage to work something else into the system."
She fished a small recording device from her pocket. It had the capability to store both audio and video recordings and would be a suitable backup for the time being. Walking back over to Dax she held the device out.
"We need more of these made, or perhaps you have some lying around in your selection of technology. They will serve as a recording system for the time being."

Dax nodded as she turned to leave already working through his mind everything he would have to do in teh next few days when Dr. Chade surprised him and returned. Glancing at the device Dax pursed his lips.
"I'll get right on it ma'am, with any luck our spying friends will just assume we are having camera troubles until we get something figured out"

"Good, I will leave you to your work then."
Once more she turned and left his work area. There was no point in continuing to hover over his workspace, although she was sure it was incentive for him to work faster and more efficiently.
"I will check on your progress later."
She said at the doorway.Taking the small hand held rcording device with her, no doubt by now the shut down the security system was detected within the main portion of the labs and they needed to maintain a recording of their experiments. It wouldn't do her any good to miss a vital part of a test just because some outside tampered with the system. She began to think of other things to do as she made her way back up to the main level. There were so many new challenges to deal with no but she was determined to continue on with her business as if nothing had gone wrong.

As the three hour make approached on the current test subject Jessinia was writing up her observation notes of the state of the subject, any changes, no matter how minor as well as signs of the serum taking effect when the system that ran the recording camera suddenly turned off. Her face turned pale as she worried as to how Lila would react to finding out the system had failed. Not only that but a few other minor systems shut down as well. None of this boded well for the assistants working in the labs.
Immediately she stood from her seat to more toward the rows of the computers where the other assistants were busy working. She eyed them closely, wondering which one typed a code into the computer to turn the systems off. It was then she realized they too had noticed the system shut down and were looking at each other, wondering who was to blame.
As she went to address the situation and try to find out some more about it Lila exited the turbolift.
"Dr. Chade, something is wrong with the recording system. As well as a few other minor systems."
Lila waved a hand to stop Jessinia from rambling on about it.
"I am fully aware of the situation Jessinia. I assure you that Dax is working on a solution as we speak. But we have a more pressing issue, that we must discuss."
She glanced at her chrono then returned her gaze to Jessinia.
"However first you must take another blood sample of the test subject."
"Of course Lila. She turned to go do so but stopped a few feet away. "How will we continue to record the experiment without the system working?
Reaching into her pocket she produced the handheld recording device and handed it to Jessinia.
"We will use this for now. Dax assured me he would have more made by tomorrow."
Taking the device Jessinia made her way back to the containment cell to take the blood sample and set the recording device on the chair to record the subject for the time being. Since the handheld device was completely independent from the main security system whoever the hackers were they would not be able to access this recording.
Lila turned to see the rest of her assistants looking at her, they all had a look of fear in their eyes, each one still worried about who had accidently turned off the recording system having not overheard the conversation between herself and Jessinia. Standing straight she looked each of them in the eye before speaking.
"There will be a meeting in ten minutes. Save whatever data you are entering and report to the meeting room at once."
Turning her back she moved toward the meeting room, pulling out her comm she called her head of security Hanley, so that he too may attend the meeting. Once in the room she turned on datapad, which she slide under the table so as to record the conversations that were about to take place. Sometimes it was all in the way someone answered a question or the pitch of their voice that could indicate if they were lying. She could only wonder if one of those wretched assistants helped with the attack on the security system.
The assistants quickly did as instructed, finishing the current entry they were working on, saved their work and made their way to the meeting room. Each vied for the chairs closest to the door, just in case Lila decided to kick them out. Jessinia followed closely behind after labeling and logging the blood sample and double checking the hand held recording device was properly set up and running. She took a seat near the front of the table, to the left of where Lila was sitting.
Hanley arrived last, closing the door behind him. As the door shut Lila called the meeting to order.
