Dear FSC,
As you may have gathered thus far, the newest storyline (entitled "Star Wars: The Wayfarers") is currently well under way. For a brief overview of the events so far, you can check out the "current plots" box underneath the chat window on the left of the UI.
The way I've designed this storyline allows for any number of folks to participate, either in central roles or as side characters. I've largely considered this storyline to be episodic, with the journey taking place over several weeks in-game. This leaves plenty of time for side adventures and the like as the crew of the Faustus approaches the endgame. Simply put, this is basically set up like a TV show, with room for the occasional cameos or special guest stars, should you only be interested in participating for a little while.
Currently participating are myself (and socks), Jet Al'Meara (and socks) and Avery Heartshorn, Aaron Starkiller, Buula Rath, and Erika/Rothk Freeborn. Obviously, we would like some more people to get on the wagon with us.
Thus, if you are interested, or have questions, or would like to participate in some capacity, please let me know by PMing me.
Cheers,
~ T
The Story so Far:
Episode 1 - All Good Things Must Come to a Beginning:
Episode Index
(Episode began on old boards, see archives)
Taaru X Avery - , pg 1-3 - CCC
Entire group, pg 1 - 37, DJO Mansion
While inspecting the Corellian military headquarters at Centerpoint Station, Taaru Masako gains an interest in the ancient pictographs spanning the ancient construct. Through research, he learns of Benjamin Heartshorn, a professor of Xenolinguistics and Cultural Anthropology, whose theories had radical, but ultimately accurate, tendencies
With the rumor of an unfinished paper on the subject of Corellia and Centerpoint, Taaru goes in search of Dr. Heartshorn, only to find him deceased of natural causes. However, his daughter -- Avery Heartshorn, a freelance antique dealer and assayer and cryptoanalytic linguistics student -- was alive, residing on Corellia, and had come into possession of her father's estate.
Arranging for a coincidental meeting, Taaru strikes up a friendship with Avery, thereby gaining acsess to her father's unfinished documents. Combined with unrestricted access to Centerpoint, Masako is able to manipulate gathered data and draw several conclusions: 1) Centerpoint was built by the Ancients/Celestials (an already known fact); and 2) Centerponts glyphs double as navigation coordinates, which lead to something a poem translated by Avery names 'The Luminary'.
As the two make this discovery a mysterious assassin attempts to dispatch Taaru and steal the research. Although the assassin is thwarted it is a clear indication that other factions seek answers to this riddle. After pinpointing coordinates in Uncharted Space from the Centerpoint data, the two bring their proposal to Corellian Diktak and DJO Leader Jet Al'Meara: While the nature of this 'Luminary' was unknown, the promise of discovering previously unknown Celestials' structures, and the fact that other factions were already on the move, required an expedition to the other side of the galaxy.
Diktat Al'Meara agrees to divert one of the Corellian Navy's brand new Prowler-class stealth cruisers from final stage testing for the mission - and further agrees to come along herself. As preparations begin, Taaru is contacted by the Thruvaran Elder Council, the ruling executive of his native people, who wishes to send a delegation of Reiter to help on the journey - an act of good will after the recent signing of a treaty between Corellia and the Thruvaran Diaspora. Although Jet is mistrustful of the offering of Thruvar's military assistance - seeing perhaps ulterior motives - she agrees when Taaru vouches for them, but tacks on a equal number of her own mercenaries to the crew as insurance.
Fellow DJO members Aaron Starkiller and Erika Freeborn also sign on to take part in the journey. While Jet receives some sage advice from a long-gone friend and endeavors to get to know Taaru's people better, a training session takes place to familiarize Aaron with the Mark VI Combat suits - an exercise which proves to be an ice breaker between the Corellian mercenaries and the Thruvaran Reiter...as well as a more personal confrontation for Jorunn, a Reiter herself and adopted daughter to Taaru.

Episode Index
Entire group, pg 37 - 45, DJO Mansion
Entire group, pg 1 - 16, Corellian system
As the Wayarers congregate at long last in the halls of the DJO's mansion outside of Coronet city, an air of organized chaos prevails over the customarily quiet personal estate and home of Diktat Al'Meara. Last minute instructions for those who are to stay, as well as those who are leaving are rushed amidst a tight schedule, as the scheduled time to embark on the journey approaches.
The sudden but otherwise uneventful arrival of three uniformed men from the past, captured on the DJO-owned and operated CCC's security footage, raises some concern, which Jet waves off as inconsequential to the momentum of the trip - to placate Taaru, however, she promises to inform and advise Amber Storm, Diktat pro tempore in Jet's absence, on how to react should this revelation prove to be graver still.
A final meeting between the mission's inner circle is called to assure that everything is in order and proceeding to plan. An agenda of the launching ceremony is outlined and agreed to and final, more personal preparations are taken care of. Goodbyes are said and promises made as those destined to leave board their respective shuttles and make for Tyrena station, home of the newly formed Prowler Corps and location of the CNS Faustus, the first Prowler to be commissioned for duty in the Corellian Navy. On the trip there Jet recieves word via Devlin of the Galactic Alliances proposed plan to restrict Force-users in Alliance-controlled territory and enforce a new tax on imported goods. As there's little to be done about it Jet, merely advises Devlin to make an announcement about thier concerns.
With the first glimpse of the grand ship, the Wayfarer's mission becomes less a talked about lark and more of a reality to those involved. Taaru, at long last, accepts Aralee Ga'lor as a competent captain, something which relieves Jet greatly given Thruvaran cultural misgivings regarding non-humans. Speeches are given through the structured launching ceremony, and at long last the Faustus is officially commisioned in and representative of the Corellian Navy, and finally departs on her voyage with the fanfare as such a ship deserves.

Due to the years of relatively self-imposed political isolation and a relative moratorium on pan-galactic exploration, Corellian military star maps lack the resolution necessary for a voyage of exploration, such as the Wayfarers are on. Knowing detailed and updated star maps will become crucial later in their journey, the Faustus first stop is at the Alliance-controlled planet of Rendili, a stellar neighbor to the Corellian sector. Posing as a superfreighter, the Faustus enters the system and a small away team is selected to retrieve the necessary navigation data from a publically available repository operated by by the Galactic Alliance Astronavigation & Cartography Bureau.
The mission appears to go smoothly and the maps are obtained without incident. However, on the way back to the pick-up point, Rendili is attacked and overwhelmed by unknown outside forces - caught in the wrong place at the wrong time the Faustus away team comes under attack.
Trouble compounds for the team and the Faustus sends a second rescue crew to the planet's surface. The rescue crew succeeds in meeting up with the away team, but not before Taaru is terribly wounded and must be rushed to the Faustus' medical facilities for attention. Once aboard, he is treated but remains unconscious as the Faustus makes an emergency jump out of the system.
