Omega Station was a space station built near a navigational beacon in the early years of hyperspace travel, in or before 5,000 BBY. Over many thousands of years, trade routes shifted and it lost significance, decaying into a half-abandoned ghostly shell of its former self.
Around 4,500 BBY the station was taken over by the Shannara family as an information repository and training center for the mysterious Omega Force. The navigational beacon was destroyed, and the station was left in a nameless part of space, somewhere no one in their right mind or with a working hyperdrive would end up… unless they were a Shannara.
Omega Station is armed with 148 laser cannons and 60 concussion missile launchers and can store enough supplies for six months for over 500 people. The station is manned by several thousand housekeeping droids, and at times may have no living resident on it.
