Mez stuck her head in behind him.
"Cache. The actual jackpot is several floors down. The antique stuff is because this level is still a Library, and the combat droids will not work without the right overrides for the same reason. We're in that little... looks like a decorative wall mural thing? It's got that huge flatsculpt of the life of Luke Skywalker along its walls. The one about Leia Organa Solo that it matches out in the Senate is pretty much the same, but you have to disable security cams to get into it."
Mez grabbed a few spare power packs off the wall for her own blaster.
"I am going to break into the turbolift. Pick a lightsaber that feels right, if any of them do, and a blaster that looks familiar. Do not pick a lightsaber that doesn't feel right because it looks cool or because you can't find one that feels right." She shouldn't need to mention that last bit, but Jace really did want a lightsaber. "You can activate the saber you find while you're in here, just to test if it feels right, but otherwise, don't turn it on unless I say so. ...Or unless you really really really need to make a hole in a wall and I'm nowhere around."

Jace nodded and made his ways to the blasters first and found one that wasn’t too heavy but not so light that the kick from firing it would make it hard to handle. Then he headed towards the lightsabers and closed his eyes. He reached out with the Force and let it guide him, knowing if he picked the wrong one it could very well mean his death.
The lightsaber he chose was fairly plain but felt good in his hands. He did want to turn it on but followed Mez’s instructions not to do so. He clipped the lightsaber to his belt and found a holster for the blaster and put that on as well. He made his way back towards Mez and watched her as she fiddled with the lift.

"You tried that one out yet?" Mez tugged a few more wires out and tied them into a fourth. That saber looked familiar, which wasn't comforting on one level, but on others was... reassuring.
The blaster, on the other hand, was an excellent choice.

He gave her a puzzled look and shook his head. “You said don’t turn it on so no.” He unclipped the lightsaber from his belt and tossed it back and forth between his hands. “It feels right though and I used the Force to help pick it.” Jace clipped the weapon back to his belt and continued to watch her pull at the wires. “I don’t mean to question you oh wise Master but are you sure you know what you’re doing?”

"Turn it on, see what colour it is." Mez gave him a look at the 'Master' word again, but he'd learn.
"Do you mean that question as an in general statement, or how I'm coming along hotwiring this thing?"

"The hot wiring part. He grinned at her as he removed the lightsaber from his side and pointed away from Mez, the ceiling, and floor. When he pressed the button to active the weapon it came to life with a hiss and emitted a brilliant blue. He waved it back and forth a bit then cut it off and reattached it to his belt. "Seems blue is my new favorite color."

"Excellent choice, Jace. As to my hotwiring, were this any other system, I would be wiring it in a different way. This particular system, however, sets off alarms in all the wrong places unless I wire it this way. Ordinarily my palmprint or blood would have gotten us access, but..." Mez shrugged awkwardly against the wall, and twisted in her last wire into the web.
The lift door hissed open.
"Right. Going down."

"Well, remind not to doubt you again." He stepped into the turbolift and waited for her to follow.

"That is not a suggestion you should make, I will bring it up at the singularly most inappropriate moment for you to eat your words with that."
Mez clambered to her feet and got in the lift.
"Now. There is a fifty-fifty chance we might be attacked once we get down there, so keep your saber off."

"Attacked? By who or what?" He brushed his fingers against the lightsaber and blaster to make sure both were still with him. He watched the doors of the turbolift closed and waited for them to start moving.

"By whoever's monitoring the lifts tonight." Surely he didn't think that just because this was a secret part of Temple, there'd be nobody down there. "Is the safety on your blaster set to on?"

He checked his blaster as the lift lurched and started downwards. "No, it's off." Jace closed his eyes for a moment and stretched out with the Force, trying to see if there was anyone waiting for them. He didn't feel anyone but that could of meant they were hiding themselves. "I don't feel anyone waiting for us but we both know what that means." Nessa hadn't hidden herself and she'd turned out to be insane, hopefully if someone was hiding themselves they'd turn out to be the opposite.

Mez bounced a little, checking the gravitational changes as the lift moved down. "Sub-basement one. Main entrance and a snazzy looking logo, because somebody who was not me decided that what we could really do with down here was a giant sign saying 'There Is Knowledge' in Old High Galactic, as apparently ostentation is what one goes in for with covert operations. You ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be." As the turbolift came to a stop he removed the lightsaber from his belt and held it tightly. Never heard to be prepared.
