Erika entered the training room still holding Talpha's arm tightly enough that there was no escape. Closing the door behind them she finally let her daughter go.
"So you are all powerful now? Think you can handle anything that is thrown at you?"
She punching a code into the computer, selecting an easy starter training program, though she would not tell Talpha that. Unclipping one of her lightsabers she thrust it into Talpha's hand.
"Consider this your first test. You pass it, you are that much closer to going home. Should you fail, well, I don't want to clean up that mess."
Pressing a final button on the console she set room to start the training exercise in one minute then turned her attention back to Talpha.
"If you think you can shadowwalk your way out of this it will just show you lack the discipline needed to become a leader. Plus I will track you down and return you to the room until you get it right. Prove to me that you have what it takes to conquer anything."
With that she stepped into the shadows. A moment later she appeared in the observation room to watch Talpha's progress. She could only hope that her daughter would take this seriously or she would need to resort to even more drastic measures. Her hand hovered near the shut off button ready to turn the training program off should Talpha encounter too many problems.

Appalled by her mothers actions Talpha could barely find any words to express how mad she was at the situation. How dare she through her in the training room like this, what had she done to deserve this? Sure she had acted out when told that she would not be returning to Dathomir and instead stay here for training but who wouldn’t be upset by that. She had every right to be at Dathomir and not locked up in this stupid mansion. Talpha heard her mothers comment about not shadowwalking out of the training room. Sure she could have easily done that, and possibly gotten caught doing so but she decided to stay and do this silly exercise. This would prove to her mother once and for all that she was strong enough to return to Dathomir where she belonged.
She tightened her grip on her lightsaber and focused her attention on the room that was now coming to life. Taking a few deep breaths she moving towards the center of the room. Reaching the center she was disappointed that nothing was happening. Did her mother make the setting so easy that the test was nothing at all.
“This is stupid.”
No sooner did she say that than the floor tile near her left side explode. She curled into a ball and hit the ground hard. Shaking her head she barely got to her feet before she was confronted by three droids armed with blasters walking towards her. Igniting her lightsaber she brought it out in front of her, taking a defensive stance against the druids. Bolts flew out towards her as the droids opened fire, slowly at first but then slowly increased the speed at which they fired. Talpha blocked the first few bolts with relative ease but as the droids increased their firing speed she found it harder to keep up. Finally she was forced to dive behind a small wall for cover and try to draw them closer in where their blasters would be less effective.
The bolts stopped shortly after she went behind the wall. The droids split up, two on the left, one on the right and made their way around the wall. Talpha was ready for them, she quickly sliced the droid on the right in half and kicked the blaster away. The two on the left aimed their blasters at her chest. She brought up her saber just in time to block on of the shots, and had to sidestep the other one, it grazed her side and she grimaced with pain. She spun around to the other side of the wall and allowed the droids to follow her. She blocked another bolt then cut one of the blasters in half, leaving that droid unarmed. She sent a TK blast at him, sending him crashing into a nearby wall. Now there was only one remaining, this would be an easy fight to finish.
Suddenly she noticed that the floor was getting increasingly colder. This momentarily distracted her from the droid and left her open for another attack. The droid took full advantage of the distraction and fired several bolts at Talpha. She struggled to get her mind back to the task at hand as the droid opened fired. Clumsily she moved her saber to block the bolts, but two made it past her defenses. One hitting her arm which nearly knocked the lightsaber out of her hand and the other striking her leg. She collapsed to the floor in pain. With what remained of her concentration she managed to block one final bolt sent form the droids blaster. She aimed it back at the droid hitting it square in the chest, knocking it back into a pile.
The floor was now freezing cold as she lay on it breathing deeply, trying to ignore the pain that flowed through her. She rolled over trying to get back to her feet but her hand settled upon one of the many tiles rigged to a trap. A flashbang exploded near her. Her ears screamed out at the blast and she tried her best to shield her eyes from the flash. Falling back once more she encountered her second trap in this training setting. The floor suddenly gave way, leaving her in a pool of waist deep water still half blind and deaf from the flashbang. She turned off her lightsaber to prevent herself from injuring herself with it as she tried to handle on the situation. As her vision and hearing began to come back she realized that the pit she had fallen in was slowly closing on her. There was no way to pull herself out of it as the ledge was too high up. She closed her eyes for a moment gathering all her strength. Feeling the sides ever so slowly getting closer to her began to make her panic. She had to get out of here before they closed on her. Finally she managed enough strength and concetration to force jump out of the pit.
Landing on the still cold floor she struggled to stay on her feet. She thought for a moment that the exercise might be over. How could it possibly go on after all of that. To her dismay she head the subtle sliding of metal and looked up to see a dozen training remotes floating towards her. Igniting her lightsaber once more she tried to keep track of the remotes but her eyesight was still blurry from the flashbang. Now knowing how she would defeat so many remotes at once she ran towards the nearest hiding spot. This only led to yet another system being triggered by the pressure sensitive floor. Two cannons now joined the fight following Talpha’s movement. When she was behind the wall they fired, one firing directly at her, the other aiming at her only escape route. Talpha’s sight was fully restored just in time to see the two cannons firing at her.
She moved to avoid the first blast but then instantly saw the flaw in that. There was no way for her to get out of the way of the second, and she didn’t get her saber up in time to block it either. Slamming into her side the bolt flung her across the room, she landed hard, knocking the wind out of her. Her sides screamed with pain, though she was lucky that the training setting was at its lowest right now or she would be much worse off. She once again tried to get to her feet, there were still all those remotes she had to deal with and she her body wouldn’t listen to her. She could only roll onto her back and try her best to fight off the blackness that was now forming at the edges of her sight. She breathing was labored, her head pounded with the effort she had put in to fight to remain conscious. As her vision began to blacken more she caught sight of something standing over her, had she had any strength left in her she would have made some move to protect herself but there was nothing left.

Erika watched the training exercise with a crucial eye. She knew Talpha's training was minimal but still had a shread of hope that the girl would do well in this. Though her hope was ever fleeting as she saw how much Talpha struggled with such an easy training sequence. Perhaps she hadn't spent enough time training her back on Dathomir. Or it could be that Dathomirian training was no match for the intense life of the DJO. A frown began to form on her face as she saw Talpha making so many simple mistakes. Being caught off guard was one thing, but making mistakes like she was was just deadly in the real battlefield. Watching her daughter collapse after only a few minutes of the exercise Erika finally pressed the kill switch to the program.
As the room turned off, sending the remotes back to their places hidden within the wall Erika shadowstepped into the room and stood over Talpha. Looking down at the young woman as she began to fall into unconsicousness she couldnt help but show her disappointment.
"Congratulations Talpha, your village has been destroyed by the Nightsisters, most of you clan is dead and you will be taken by Morgause as a trophy of battle, tortured and eventually killed. Still think you can handle everything Dathomir can throw at you?"
She knew there would be no answer for that. Talpha now lay unconscious on the floor. She was not badly hurt, she would need some rest but there was no real reason to take her to the labs for treatment. The bruises would merely serve as a reminder to Talpha of the mistakes she had made. Besides Erika hated the labs so much that she wouldnt go there unless she was dying, and even then she would have to be dragged there. She found her lightsaber on the floor beside Talpha, picking it up she turned it off and clipped it on her belt.Picking her daughter up she carried her out of the training room.
