Aaron busied himself by putting his vibroaxe back in place on his suit's thigh and inspecting his shield again. "I'm not trying to tell you how to teach her but," he remarked after a moment. "I'd cut her some slack. After all I'd like to think I could raise your blood pressure if I needed to."
Fixing his gaze on Taaru's arm, Aaron gestured towards it. "Once we're back I can take a look at that for you if you'd like," he offered. "I'm pretty good on the molecular level."

Xander grunted a acknowledgment to Jet and took another shot feeling his inhibitions slipping as he watched the fight he stood up nodded to Jet and Shadow walked to his room taking the bottle with him
Appearing in his room he inspected it seeing nothing had been touched before laying down in his bed checked it for traps paranoia or caution someone could argue Xander decided it was habit. with a small smile that doesn't shine to often he slipped into a deep slumber after consuming the rest of the whiskey

Taaru does not turn to address Aaron, but it is obvious he is listening, responding via comm instead of loudspeakers.
"No doubt you could earn my ire, Aaron, but I have learned to work through it and harness it. If you, so to speak, raised my blood pressure, I would drop yours," this was not a threat, simply a certainty uttered. "She has yet to understand this nuance, and so I will continue to teach her."
Taaru bends at the knees to avoid a low branch, picking his way through a gnarled root system.
"Furthermore, there are things about Jorunn you do not know....things I am trying to help her face."
Left unsaid, but hinted in his tone, was that Taaru had failed as much as Jorunn. Whether or not Aaron felt slighted at Taaru interfering in the duel, he didn't care. The point never was for this to be a duel between the two fighters...if anything, it was a duel of Jorunn's will and her spirit. While Taaru did not regret interrupting it, he did regret how he'd chosen to do it.
Injuring one's liege was grounds enough for expulsion from Thruvaran martial brotherhoods...but to Jorunn in particular....he would have to try to speak with her later.....
As Aaron remarks on Taaru's wound, he looks down at the arm and turns a quarter to regard Aaron: "It is nothing, but my thanks. Still, you mustn't mention it to anyone."

"Hmmm....."
This from Konrad, who generally gladly explicated his thoughts on a training duel. The way this one turned out left him somewhat speechless. Not a common thing.
The screen rises, and Konrad sits up, depositing uneaten morsels and trash in the proper receptacle, and yelling a few curt words in Thruvaran at Till, whom he recognizes sitting a few feet away.
He excuses himself from Jet: "That was a pleasant distraction, but it looks like I'm back to work. I enjoyed our chat, however. Glad to know you a little better."
[...]
"Neither did I," Till responds, "I don't think Jorunn or Aaron did either."
Till is about to continue when he perks up at Konrad's voice.
"Ja ja, verstanden," he responds. Turning to Rothk: "It looks like I'm done with fun and games for now. But I guess I'll see you around, huh?"
[...]
Of all situations Miko has had to face, it's ones like these when he never feels adequate.
He stands shortly after Avery, and takes her proffered hand. That she had coincidentally picked up on his previous train of thought spooked him somewhat, but he brushed it off quickly with a lie:
"A barbaric custom. Certainly both sexes can contribute equally on a ship," he says, his tone jesting.
But sarcastic sexism, he supposes, isn't what Avery needs at the moment, so he places his other hand on her shoulder.
"Listen...if you don't feel like this journey is the thing for you right now, you are free to decline the invitation. I know it must be a tough time for you, right now, with your father gone. And I'm not going to sugarcoat it: This is going to be very stressful, if not outright dangerous at times. No one will hold it against you if you decide to not go."

Aaron smiled in response to Taaru's remark about blood pressures. He took it for what it was and continued to make his way through the roots of the swamp. "Well if you need any help with a training exercise again my door is always open," he replied over the comm system.
Aaron nodded, which appeared somewhat comical with the suit's structure, in response to Taaru's statement concerning his arm. "Of course," he said as he wiped the blood off the axe's blade on a nearby tree.
"Shall we," he asks as he gestures to the sky. "Even though they compliment my personality I'm not too big on wading through swamps."

Jet nodded absently to Konrad as he rose and went back to doing - whatever it was he needed to do. Xander had left via shadow a short time earlier something for which Jet was grateful - the last thing she needed was Xander acquiring a loose tongue due to alcohol in the presence of of allot of people she barely knew. This drinking of his was a new habit and Jet hadn't yet decided if it was one she liked - she would have to see how it affected him.
As the Thruvarans filters back to work Jet caught darren's eye with a slight motion of her hand - before long the Corellian's had been rounded up and put back to work as well. The droids began to clean away the mess although they left enough behind for the returning fighters and Taaru should they so wish it.
Jet decided to wait where she was, she still wished to speak with Aaron.

Rothk nods, finishing his plate of food and feeling overstuffed.
"Definately, and if we are both busy over the next few days we can look forward to meeting again on the ship."
He sighed slightly.
"Well I better let you get back to your work. See you around."
He turned and walked slowly to the other side of the hanger, handing his plate to one of the random droids cleaning up the mess. He glanced back once to see Till returning to his work. He was glad to have made a friend today and couldn't wait until he could see him again.
He turned once more and continued his way across the hanger, this time he headed towards Jet to see if perhaps she had anything for him to do to pass the time. Stopping a few feet away from her he stood silently waiting for any instructions she may have for him.

She laughed lightly at his sarcasm, but when his hand reached her shoulder she was taken back a bit.
Maybe this was something she needed. A friend? Someone like a brother? She felt weirdly warm as if she were with family. Miko's nice words reminded her of something her older brother would say.
"Honestly... I don't think I could leave even if I wanted to."
And that was the truth, but maybe not in it's entirety. On the one hand she did feel needed here and like she could help with something- even if it was something trivial. It wasn't like she could fight- she could barely fire the blaster Taaru gave her without her hands wavering nervously.
But on the other hand where was she going to go even if she didn't go? It wasn't as if she had a life to go back to- not really anyway. Before this, she was slumming it up in bars and stumbling home... then fixing a lamp on the weekends. It wasn't a real life. It wasn't even a life for a 2-D fictional character in the books she read.
"I feel like there's something I have to do here. Even if it never happens, I don't want to wonder what would have happened if I hadn't been on board for this..."
'It's better to live,' She added mentally.
"But it was nice talking to you. My offer still stands for later if you're interested. I have all my notes here."
She nodded slightly and then turned and walked off.
Maybe this mission wouldn't be such a terrible idea. Maybe it could work out into something wonderful. Maybe this whole thing could result in some sort of comradery. A family? Maybe.

Miko nodded, understanding all too well Avery's sentiments. This was an issue of purpose, for her, and Miko couldn't deny her that. She would have her doubts, yes, and she may even regret her decision now. But comradery in a unified purpose was something he deeply valued, and could only hope she would find as well.
"It seems that you have already made up your mind, and that your doubts are nothing but aftershocks," he observes, adding in benediction "May the wind fill your sails...and mine, for that matter."
He watched, hands in trouser pockets as she walked off. Glancing down at the floor, he kicked at a screw that lay there, before wandering aimlessly towards the other Thruvarans in search of something to do.

"I have no idea how you could equate your personality to a swamp, Aaron. For one, you smell better," Taaru joked, Aaron's lightheartedness being somewhat infectious. "But yes...let's."
And with that, Taaru raised his shield arm to bat away any branches as he fired his jump jets, sending him above the canopy and out into the open marshland surrounding the swamp.

Aaron laughed shortly and allowed Taaru to take off first. He followed suit, making sure to use the opening Taaru had just created in the vegetation.
It wasn't long after that the two men landed back in the hangar and Aaron was greeted with the feeling that jet wanted to speak with him. He bid Taaru farewell as he went to remove himself from the suit.
Positioning the suit in it's prior position in the crate Aaron opened up the chest plate and shut down the systems. He pried himself out and hopped down to the floor. He winced slightly as he removed the neural band and set it down inside the suit. He picked up his clothes as Joruun's vibroaxe caught his eye. He'd have to ask one of the Thruvarans if it'd be a good idea to return it to her. He shrugged the thought off for now and walked away.
A moment later Aaron was walking up to where Jet was sitting. He grinned as he buttoned his pants, which he had elected to put on over his plug suit. He pulled up a chair and plopped down in it, rather close to Jet, and put his arm on the back of her chair. "You want me," he said with a smirk as he leaned in closer to her. "Don't you Miss Almeara?"

Avery slowly made it back to her own room. It wasn't that she was in a peticularly bad mood, but she wasn't all that excitably happy either. In fact, all in all, she was pretty mopey- this was something that never bred good behavior. In her normal life, this would call for alot of whiskey and maybe a good old fashioned toaster at the end of the night. But she didn't have a toaster.
She entered the room to find Collin by her desk.
"Hey Collin. Fun day?"
Collin beeped as if he were in the same mood as she. Avery raised her brows and nodded, "I hear you."
"Collin, do me a favor and collect all my notes on the mission. I want them stacked up on my desk. We may or may not have a visiter tonight."
Collin beeped nervously and moved back and forth.
"It's not Taaru."
Collin jumped to life, and wheeled over to the shelves, pulling out bits of paper and notepads and books to stack up. Collin knew Taaru's sentiments on robot life and felt he would rather not be taken apart and turned into a drink dispenser.
Avery on the other hand, did not spring to life to help. In fact, she walked over to her bed, pulled off her boots and then laid down to stare at the ceiling. She replayed Miko's conversation in her mind over and over again until the words became muddy and everything was a blur. Rolling over, she decided a nap was a better option.

Jet glanced up as Rothk headed her way but quite honestly she didn't have much for him to do at the moment, after thinking a while she motioned him over.
"Why don't you head over to ShadowChaser, Ice is in there - tell him to take you down to the training room and practice with your saber against more then one remote."
Nodding him off, she turned her attention to the arrival Aaron, which was predictably Aaronish. Turning her gaze on him she smiled slightly "Well at least we know your observant" She left that to be interpreted in any way he wished although the back of her chair suddenly became uncomfortably cold - cold nearly to the point of burning and frost began to crawl its way across his hand and arm. Jet continued to look at him, green eyes unreadable as almost as an aside she unsheathed a dagger and began to sharpen it.

Aaron glared as his hand began to ache with the cold but he did not move it. Instead he rose the temperature in his arm to counteract the damage Jet was now doing to his skin cells. It was then that drops of water started hitting the floor behind her chair adding yet another noise to the bustle of the hangar.
"If we keep this up the hangar's going to go up in flames or shatter like glass," he said softly.

"Will it now?" Jet quirked an eyebrow at him, she had known of course that Aaron could easily counter her trick with the cold - but then that hadn't exactly been the point of the gesture. If she had wanted to do him harm she wouldn't have bothered with such a small gesture to start with.
"It would be somewhat of a pity to ruin all this equipment and have to start preparations all over again" She commented, his stubbornness was a valuable trait - even if at times he choose to show it in undesirable ways. "You seem to be sitting in a shadow" She commented gaze ticking to the floor and the shadow which engulfed them both. Her voice didn't change, but her remark made it fairly clear that even he could push his luck too far if he wasn't careful. None the less it was a sign of Jet's enduring patience with him that she hadn't already blasted him across the hanger.
