History/Background:
He was born with a twin. His brother and he grew up on Corellia. His brother was just the opposite of him. His brother was outgoing while he is introverted. His brother helped others, where as he helped himself. On their tenth birthday the Jedi came to take them away for training. Heero was against going, but Kane wanted to go and would not go with out him. He talked him into going against his will. He said that he would owe him a favor. Heero was not one to turn down a promise of a favor, and Kane knew it, so they went. Heero hated it there and it was no secret. One their fourteenth birthday they were both out on missions. Kane did not know what his brother was to do but assumed he could handle it. During his mission he felt his brother in pain and a fight. Then he could not feel his brother at all. He feared for the worst, but hoped for the best. It was not until he got back did he hear of his brothers "death". It saddened him greatly and sent a message to his parents telling them of their son's death.
It would be months before Kane smiled again. He grieved and moved on, Kane thought if he just sat around in a rut it would dishonor his brother memory. Little did he know that he would see his brother again in just six years.
Then there was news about a new tomb discovered on Ruusan. The Jedi thought that some one would make a move to loot it and sent Kane to make sure nothing happened. He took it as a normal mission and when he landed he went to the base camp of the archeologists, there was no one there. He figured they were at the tomb so that’s where he headed next. He could not put his finger on it but some thing in the Force told him something was wrong here. He kept his guard up until he arrived at the dig site outside the tomb. And there he saw what he could not believe. His brother was alive and well.
"I thought you died!" Kane exclaimed
"I am not dead as you see, but I have found my calling." Heero replied calmly
"What? What calling?" Kane asked
That’s when Heero used force lightning on him, but Kane quickly drew his light saber and used it to block the electrical attack.
"What are you doing?!" Kane yelled
"Ridding myself of my past.” Heero said simply
"You, you fell to the dark side! NOOOO!" Kane exclaimed as he pushed the attack back and closed the distance between them, attacking high. Heero drew one of his light sabers to block the attack with ease.
"I feel your anger with me, use it. Let it fuel yourself. Let it go." he said as he attacked with a slash at Kane's chest. Kane blocked and they locked weapons.
"Come back with me, Heero. It's not too late to come back." Kane pleaded.
"Why? Back into your shadow? Back to not being noticed? No." Heero said as he broke the lock and attacked again, this time his attack grazed Kane’s right bicep.
"Why go back? The Jedi held me back. Just like you did. Come to think of it, you owe me a favor no? I am calling it in. I want you to die!" he said as he sprung into attacking again. The battle went on for five hours before they both began to run out of energy.
"I will give you one thing; you finally can hold your own. But it won’t be enough. I will win and I will take you back." Kane said.
"You Jedi always did like the sound of your own voices. And if you think I'll go back your wrong. You'll have to kill me." Heero replied as the both charged each other. Their attacks were strong and elegant. Both clearly masters of the forms. No energy was wasted in their attacks. In one move Heero had taken the upper hand and knocked Kane off his center of gravity. He stumbled to regain his footing but it was too late. Heero swung his saber down as Kane's arm came out to balance him. Heero took his brother’s left arm at mid bicep. Kane’s screams echoed loudly within the valley.
"You’re just too weak to do what needs to be done, Kane. You always were. This is where we part ways. See you in the next life, Brother." Heero said as he walked up to his brother. Kane was kneeling on both knees, holding the stump of his arm, his light saber in front of him on the ground.
"No, Brother, I won't." he said as Heero brought his weapon back and began a slash that would cleave Kane's head from his shoulders. Kane ducked and grabbed his light saber and activating it in one swift movement. Heero tried coming back with another slash but it was too late. Kane had already slashed his right arm off at the elbow. Heero yelled in pain, but as he did so he grabbed for his other light saber and activated it in mid swipe, again trying to take his brother’s head. Again his brother was faster and had the better angle. Kane cut Heero's left leg off mid thigh and his right at the knee in one attack. Heero fell backward screaming and cursing his brother.
"I will not go back, Kane. I won't. Kill me now!" he yelled he said while on his back, trying to get himself upright.
"I can't, Heero. You’re coming back with me." he said softly as he got up and walked over to his brother, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and began to drag him back to his ship. He did not get one meter before Heero spoke.
"No! I won't. If you won't finish the job then I will!" Heero said as he grabbed his light saber with the Force, calling it to his good hand stabbed at his brother’s heart as he activated it.
Kane batted the attack to the side and stepped on his brothers fore arm.
"I am sorry Heero; I was not there when you needed me. I grieved deeply when they said you were KIA. But this hurts me more then when I thought you were dead. And this will hurt me more then you." he said as he looked deeply into his brothers blue eyes and saw no fear. Kane only saw hatred and anger. He swung his light saber and cut off his hand at the wrist. A lone tear slide down Kane's check as he turned and began to drag his brother to his ship.
“Why Heero? Why did you turn against me? Against Mother and Father? Against The Jedi and the civil galaxy?” Kane asked
“I was tired of holding it in and keeping myself in check. I never wanted to protect the weak. That was you that wanted to. Mom and Dad? They barely noticed my existence. You were always their favorite. Nothing changed when they came for you. The Jedi wanted you, not me The Jedi preach that body and mind must be one with the force. And the Civil Galaxy? Bah! This is not civil, this is stagnation. The Galaxy has grown compliant and weak. They need to be reminded how to evolve. Conflict is the key to evolution, not protection.” He said as a vile cackle began to take over. Heero laughed loudly and wildly.
"To think I would ever have to use this. I told you, Brother, I won't go back. I'll kill us both if you don’t leave me." he said as with the little focus he could muster and pulled a thermal detonator out of his pocket with the force and activated it.
"I would get out of here; you have half a minute to get clear of the blast zone. Twenty meters. And don’t think this is the only one I have either." he laughed
Kane stood there wide eyed as he tried to pry it from Heero’s force grip to no success.
"Twenty seconds." Heero said with a cackle.
"If that’s how it going to be, good bye Brother." Kane said as he used the force to amplify his speed and ran to wards his ship. Leaving his brother to his chosen fate.
“We will meet again, Heero. When we do I will take you back to The Jedi.” He said as he boarded his ship. He set coarse for the Jedi temple. There he reported that his brother still lived and that he had fallen to the dark side. He wants nothing more then to bring his brother back to the Light Side and restore total peace to the galaxy.
