The inspector gives her a smile, somewhere between pleasant and feral.
"As a crewmember of the Faustus, it wasn't necessary for you to wait in line. You could have gone straight through, leaving your bags and droid to be inspected and sent along before departure."
He points to a large holo-sign at the other end of the room, which, in effect, says that military commissions had already been cleared past security by military AIs, and only needed to check their personal belongings.
"Nevertheless, have a pleasant day, ma'am."
The inspector turns to the TSA official holding back the line, and indicates the next person may approach.

She smile at him and thanked him for explaining that to her. She stepped up and helped SB-20 load the bags onto the scanner. And then spoke to the man working the sensor booth, "Hello, sir."

The Corellian manning the sensor booth was a good two heads taller and much larger than Buula. He replies her courtesy with a half-hearted reply. Despite this being the beginning of his shift, he doesn't seem quite as chipper.
He indicates for her to place her belongings on the conveyor through the sensor booth, and indicates the droid should roll its way through a separate booth designed specifically for mechanical aides.

She put her luggage case on the indicated scanner and kept her purse over her shoulder. "Do you need to scan my hand bag, too?" She asked. SB-20 did as instructed and started through the other booth.

"Yes. And please empty the contents of your pockets into one of these trays," he says, proffering said tray.

"Ok, just a second." she replied a bit suprised. She dropped the smaller bag on the conveyor belt behind the larger suitcase, and then pulled a tray over and put in the one comlink she carried in her pocket and dropped the other random bits that resided in her pocket as she slid the tray onto the belt as well. Her other comlinks and datapad were in side her purse along with other innocuous things that would probably be seen everyday in the same place.

The staffer scrutinizes the sensor readout displays as Buula's items pass through, manipulating a 3D holo representation of her belongings to get a better angle and for different levels of sensor penetration.
He also checks for the presence of any residue signaling hazardous chemicals or possible explosives, as well as any malicious wireless devices.
Finding none, he waves Buula through the security gate.

Buula thanked the man as her items came out the other end of the machine. Taking them off of there she replaced her things from the tray once more into her pockets. As she took her luggage off the rack and made room for the next traveler she stepped over and handed the handle over to SB-20 as it was also finished being scanned. They continued along through the station and came to a large area with a viewprot aimed at a sleek white ship with greycolored bubbles near the rear. Across the side near the bow was written CNS FAUSTUS. She stopped and blinked looking out at ship. "Holy Bantha! That is an amazing ship!" she thought. SB-20 beeped at her she looked down and he released the baggage handle and reached out with its arm and tapped her wristchrono. Realising that she still need to hurry she took off again with the droid following her toward the ceremony. When they finally arrived at the she saw someone alrady standing at the podium and slunck into the back where fewer people would see her arriving late. SB-20 stayed even farther back just in from the cooridor still carrying the luggage.

Aaron, emerging from nowhere, wrapped Jet's arm around his again as they were lead towards the dais. "What," he asked her with a grin, not even waiting to see if she would give him the look he knew would be there. "You agreed to being my date tonight. I'm milking it for all it's worth." Smiling he, politely, lead her along to the dais behind the orderly.
Having now reached the small steps that led up to the raised dais, Aaron unwound his arm from Jet's once again and slid in front of her, bringing her to a halt. "One sec," he said before he delicately began to pick loose strands and locks of hair from in front of her face, tucking them behind her ears. "Not that you weren't beautiful before but," he said as he worked. "Every little bit helps when you're standing in front of a crowd." Having finished with her hair, Aaron wet the tip of his finger and began to move it close to her face, as if to wipe something off. He stopped, however, once he noticed the daggers she was staring at him. Smiling genuinely, Aaron pulled his hand away and laughed quietly.
Aaron took a few steps forward and stood next to the stairs. Holding his hand out to Jet, in a polite gesture, to assist her up the stairs he beckoned her forward. "Madame Diktat," he said gentlemanly. "Allow me."

Jet was not startled by Aarons sudden appearance, she had known that he would return at some point after the chime sounded and had in a fashion been waiting for him - or at least she hadn't shadowwalked directly to her seat - though some perverse part of her was sorely tempted to do so, if only for the reaction such a thing might create.
"So I did" She responded in a wry tone. "And I hope your enjoying yourself because such favors do not come around often" And well aware of the crowd surrounding them and the conduct required at such times Jet did not object to his escort, at least he had the good sense to take hold of her off hand.
When they reached the dais and he slipped in front of her only a great deal of self control kept her from stumbling to a clumsy halt - she hadn't been expecting him to stop - but she made it look like she did and gave him a 'what now' look of exasperation which quickly slipped to a warning look which could only be interpreted as 'be very careful...' even allowing for a brief moment a shimmer of ice blue to flicker in her eyes.
Aaron however knew her well enough to stop just short of breaching her patience and return to a more gentlemanly action. Which was good she reflected...it wouldn't be pleasant for the Diktat to pitch a fit in front of the crowd after all - especially for the crowd. A small portion of her considered ignoring his hand and making her way up the stairs and to her seat on her own - but she sighed slightly and accepted the hand he offered with good graces. At least...when he was tormenting her she knew he wasn't getting into trouble elsewhere she reminded herself and alked with him to their assigned seats smiling and nodding to those she passed and recognized, including Taaru's Major friend - who looked put together enough to have not committed murder, or at least had the foresight to pack a second suit if he had.
When the orderly motioned to the three seats for herself Aaron and Erika, Jet thanked them and took her place just as Pinkala reached the podium. Looking out over the crowd Jet let her gaze rove over Darren and his crew - mentally counting and ensuring all were present. They were...thankfully, one problem not to worry with.

Before Jet has taken her seat Aaron had politely wiped away any particles of dust with his hand. "Can't have my lady sitting on dirt," he remarked humorously. Unbuttoning his jacket, Aaron followed suit and took his own seat, crossing one leg over the other and resting his knotted fingers in his lap. Strangely, Aaron appeared much more orderly and proper than anyone could have expected.
Grinning out towards the crowd, Aaron leaned in closer to Jet and whispered through his teeth. "It's too bad being a gentleman doesn't require for the accompanying woman to sit in his lap."

Jet sighed slightly as Aaron decided to play his role to the max - more she thought for his own amusement then for any actual regard for dirt or her dress. Whispering quietly to him as he wiped at the dust. "I haven't been anyones 'lady' in a very long time Aaron, not since.." and with a slight furrowing of her brow she let that thought trail off and shooed Aaron away so she could take her seat determined to ignore the memory's which flickered just below the surface...no need to think of him right now, it would just sour her mood. "In any case...that point is not likely to change anytime soon" She finished as he took his own seat...and for once seemed to be behaving.
Or maybe not she thought to herself as he leaned close to whisper his next comment, giving the crowd an equally serene smile Jet responded to Aaron in the same manner 'Indeed..though it would have been a pity to spray blood all over the front row - some of them have remarkably tailored suits"

((Written to the song "Colonial Anthem" - Bear McCreary, Battlestar Galactica OST #2))
Pinkala allows for those attending to to settle down and find their places, too knowing of how difficult social occasions could be for military men and women, who were more accustomed to long periods of boredom with intense stochastic stress events.
As the level of noise and bustling falls below a certain threshold, the Flt. Adm. clears his throat to draw attention once more to himself.
Corellian affairs are generally somewhat informal, compared to others in the galaxy. On Chandrila, 15 minutes would have been wasted introducing the command staff attending the ceremony, and another 15 minutes introducing Pinkala as the primary speaker. Fortunately, Corellian practicality interceded, and allowed him to take the podium without such formality. This pleased him immensely: He never considered himself anything more than a fellow citizen, and being treated with no more nor no less respect than such a status conferred reminded him, in some small way, of why he had devoted his life to the service.
The Admiral adjusts his glasses, and glances down at the speech notes he has prepared on a data pad, then begins.
"Ladies & Gentlebeings, Honored Servicemen & Women, Guests & Friends...allow me to welcome you to this ceremony, which has been so graciously arranged for us by the Dept. of the Navy in cooperation with the Corellian Service Organization. It is our purpose today, to grant a fine product of Corellia's diligence, ingenuity and industry the full status of a Ship of the Line in the Corellian Navy, to wish her great fortune and smooth sailing, and to send her and those that live aboard her to the stars."
He pauses, as the crowd effects a smattering burst of applause.
"But before we begin the naming and commissioning of Prowler Designation SSNR-65, I am proud to welcome her crew. More so I am deeply honored to welcome our allies and friends, the Thruvaran Reiter, who for the first time are participating in joint military operations with the Corellian Navy, as a sign of goodwill from the Thruvaran Diaspora."
Flt. Adm. Pinkala, who had assumed the somewhat diminutive posture of an elderly gentlemen (which, he realized, he was slowly becoming), seems to grow a foot in height as he straightens himself at the podium, his face losing some of its warmth and instead inspiring awe.
"Crew of the Faustus. You have been summoned to this august proceeding. Show yourself, so that we may know your valor."
The gala room, essentially one big rectangular space, has two levels. The first is the bottom floor, on which guests, non-crew and other delegates are currently seated. The second level is a wide gantry ringing the sides of room, with amphitheater style seating all along it.
From several doors in this gantry suddenly emerge 1000s of uniformed officers and enlisted Naval personnel. For those with good eyes, the insignia of the Faustus can be seen on their shoulder patches.
The men & women proceed in orderly and uniform rows, fanning out into the theater seating in a remarkably mechanistic process. As they reach their spots, they stand at attention.
The two main bulkhead doors leading into the gala room are last to open, and from them emerges the Thruvaran Reiter, Mjr. Taaru Masako commanding, and leading the delegation, with Miko at one side and Sofie & Victor behind them, bearing the flag of the Thruvaran Diaspora and the Ensign of the Reiter.
The Reiter delegation travels up the center aisle and comes to a stop in front of the podium. When they reach it, they stop, at attention.
Masako, as commander of the marines stationed aboard the Faustus, along with Cpt. Galor's XO, are first to salute the Admiral, followed in near perfect unison by the entirety of the Faustus' 9500 person crew.
One after the other, Masako and the ship's XO reply to the Admiral: "Our duty calls us, and we have answered."
The Admiral returns the salute: "At ease."
The crew, a combination of awe-inspiring, grim and fiercely proud, settles into a wider stance, with their arms behind their backs.
"Ladies & Gentlemen, the crew of the Faustus."
The crowd is deafened by its own applause.

"You're my lady tonight, whether it means something or not" he whispered simply before her next comment.
Aaron smiled, still gazing out over the crowd, when Jet made her remark about his lap. The Admiral had started to speak now so Aaron leaned in closer to Jet, once again, and whispered softly. "Then perhaps you can sit on my lap, in private, and we can spray bodily fluids whichever way we choose." He slowly, and privately, crafted a suggestive image and slipped it into Jet's mind, showing her just what they could end up doing. He wasn't being too serious about the whole ordeal, rather, he was trying to keep her loosened up and relaxed due to the current situation she was in, but if Jet turned to look at him all she would see is Aaron watching the Admiral attentively.
When the crowd broke into applause, Aaron joined in with their clapping albeit more withheld and polite.

It was interesting to note that even without speaking Aaron could be a smartass. As the Admiral had begun the Ceremony, Jet found herself robbed of the chance to reply to his comments...but that hardly mattered as they had apparently moved on to the mind game portion of the night.
No outward indication revealed that Jet's full attention was not on the ceremonies, and she didn't bother to glance towards Aaron knowing that he too would be giving all indications of attentiveness. When a lull in the Admirals speech allowed her the chance to give her revenge her full attention Jet recalled Aarons earlier 'gift' and with a few changes...namely the substitution of herself for an ewok she sent the now highly disturbing image back to him along with the chilly indication that he stood no chanc whatsoever of seeing his original image put into practice. Who said Commissioning Ceremonies couldn't be amusing?
Her inner amusement was interrupted however by the arrival of the crew..and soon after Taaru and his Thruvarans, hom Jet did indeed give her full attention, adding her applause to the crowd.
