The Corellian Navy 'Amid drifting currents, an anchor' The Corellian Navy consists of one fleet, broken into five taskgroups or battlegroups, depending on assignment. It’s primary duties involve defense of the Corellian system and those protectorate planets under Corellia’s jurisdiction, as well as routine patrols of shipping lanes to insure the flow of commerce that sustains the Corellian system. The fleet numbers 579 commissioned ships of the line. More are currently being added, as the acquisition of the Kuat Drive Yards by the Corellian Engineering Corp. and the Corellian government has significantly boosted Corellia’s economy, and therefore her military budget and purview. Most vessels in the Corellian Navy are older models originally acquired from the Sith Empire formerly ruled by Jak Mortac to combat the Yuuzhan Vong during the Second Yuuzhan Vong Conquest. However, as these vessels were beyond their time during their original manufacture, they continue to be some of the most powerful in the galaxy. In the time since their original service, CEC, and now KDY-CEC, has successfully retro-engineered many of the advanced technologies of these former Sith warships and adapted them to use. Furthermore, instead of mothballing or scuttling older vessels, the quality of Sith shipbuilding has allowed the Corellian Navy to implement a successful refit program. All vessels once acquired from the Sith Empire have since undergone at least one refit, standardizing many systems and modifying many others to keep pace with new innovations. Since his rise to prominence within Corellia’s government and her defense industry in particular, Taaru Masako has insured many forward strides in how the Corellian Navy operates. One of these innovations is the employment of modular technologies that allow one ship class to fulfill multiple roles. Thus, the bulk of the Corellian Navy, consisting of Reaper Assault Cruisers, has been refitted to create various subclasses. This is also true of various other classes. This has, in a short time span, turned an already powerful space navy into one of the most formidable fleets in the galaxy, rivaled only by the Galactic Alliance. Unlike the GA, however, Corellia subsists on fewer resources and manpower, utilizing its technological innovations (such as drones and artificial intelligence) to reduce overhead costs and revolutionize its industrial and economic capacity. As in ages past, Corellia continues to shine forth as a gleaming jewel of determination, intuitiveness and dedication to excellence, a quality reflected in its navy. Table of Contents

Notes:It's intended role is to move station section and even whole starships if they are disabled, or require piloting out of navigation hazards or shore facilities. The largest feature of the tug is, of course, the buffer plate at the forward part of the vessel (the hammer, as called by its crews). Layered with advanced polymers and rubbers, the buffer plate allows the frigate to make solid contact with the target vessel without causing serious trauma to the vessel being pushed. In-layed within the plate are several magnetic grapplers that allow a secured hold on the target while it is being moved. When moving a large object, standard procedure dictates that the grappler and extended hooks are deployed on the target before moving the object (in concert with standard tugs).
The heavy tug also comes equipped with a small hanger to service and store standard tugs for Rescue and Towing operations. The bow of the ship, between the pusher plates, also comes with a breaching drill that allows rescue teams to get into a disabled vessel.

Notable and Historic Vessels Throughout the years several vessels have achieved fame either through actions in battle, method of their acquisition, length of duty or as the chosen favorite of notable DJO members. Such vessels deserve recognition and so will be listed here. The Pride of CorellA souvenir of the New Carida campaign, this former Imperial vessel has become the pride of the Corellian Home Fleet, serving as its flagship and as a reminder that Corellians not only “Get what they want” but that they can also “Do it better.” Recognizing a need for an extensive refit to bring outdated Imperial technology up to Corellian standards, the Pride of Corell has been fitted with standard systems found aboard other vessels in the navy. Most impressive are its 3 MACs. At 1200 meters long a piece, they are the largest in the fleet, second only to the Super MAC stations that guard the Corellian system. Designed originally as a planetary occupation dreadnaught, the DSSD in the Corellian Navy remains mostly empty, as it is not part of the Expeditionary Fleets and isn’t required to ferry troops. The decision to make this DSSD the flagship of the Corellian Navy originally fell to then Commander Nils Pinkala. Having distinguished himself as captain of the Reaper that led the New Carida campaign, Pinkala received a promotion to Rear Admiral and was given the DSSD by strike group commander, Taaru Masako, as a war prize (to Thruvarans, a custom reserved for subordinates who have distinguished themselves). After the New Standardization program and the reorganization of the navy, the DSSD was moved to a permanent commission with the Home Fleet, where it shall remain. For his tireless service, Pinkala has been further promoted to Fleet Admiral of the Corellian Navy, and commands the home fleet from the Pride, which he named to honor the Five Worlds. The DawnrunnerAn ancient Bulwark Battle Cruiser, this ship served dutifully as one of the very first DJO vessels. Having participated in early Imperial and Jedi related skirmishes the vessel was Decomissioned with the arrival of the Sith warships. After it's retirement from the DJO Navy Dawnrunner became the personal ship of Dangerous Waves CEO Devlin Archer. During the second vong invasion It was the Dawn Runner which carried many DJO relics to safety, including The ShadowChaser personal ship of Corellian Diktat Jet Al'meara. The Glacier A Reaper-class assault ship The Glacier became the home away from home for Corellian Diktat Jet Almeara. Chosen as her personal flagship and run by a hand picked crew it is from this vessel that Jet found herself commanding in times of need. Although typically stationed within the Corellian system as a member of the home fleet - the ship has been drafted several times to serve on special missions. It was from the Glacier that Jet along with cohort Keijen Blade commanded the campaigns which eventually eradicated the remaining vong from known space, participated in several skirmishes with the Galactic Alliance and stared down the warships of Sith Lord Darth Revenant in order to save Jedi and DJO member Chase Storm. The Vessel is currently scheduled to be rotated out of the home fleet upon which time Jet will choose a new Flagship. The crew of Glacier will be given the choice of transferring to Sacred Promise the chosen new Flag and remaining in the Corellian home fleet - or staying with their vessel to serve elsewhere in the Corellian Navy. The EmberThe Ember gained fame within the Corellian navy as the Vessel from which current Fleet Admiral Nils Pinkala and Taaru Masako waged their historic campaign against the Imperial Remnant resulting in the conquest of New Carida, Mykyr and the Imperial Shipyards. FaustusThe CNS Faustus (SSNR-65) is the first ship of its kind, built for strength, , stealth & independence. Recognizing the Navy's need for long-haul cruisers, able to operate far beyond the Corellian system as an information gatherer and raider, Taaru Masako originally proposed the design to the Corellian Engineering Corp after the New Carida & Myrkr campaigns. Working together on the design, Masako and a dedicated engineering team were unable to realize the cruisers construction due to CEC's inadequate shipbuilding facilities. This quickly changed when CEC acquired Kuat Drive Yards in a stock market takeover, after KDY's stock crashed after a terrorist attack dented confidence in it. Construction began as soon as KDY's assets had been moved to Corellia, in a construction facility specifically dedicated to the construction of Prowlers. The Faustus was first off the line. Featuring the best that CEC-KDY can offer, the Faustus was instrumental as a research vessel during its prototype phase, serving as a platform for testing many of the new systems that would eventually be installed fleet-wide in the New Standardization program. As such, the Faustus was the first ship to integrate Artificial Intelligences, as well as several automation systems, notably the repurposing of Terror Drones as security detail and maintenance/engineering supplement. Intended for long operations far from home, the Faustus (and subsequent Prowlers) emphasize stealth and speed. While not fitted with a cloaking device, the Prowler is fitted with everything from engine baffles to a sensor stealth coating and its own sensor package has a range far beyond most other vessels that aren't research ships (indeed, many research tools were adapted for use in the Prowlers). As long as the Faustus stays out of visual range (not difficult in open space), she is nigh undetectable. In the future, however, CEC-KDY hopes to fit Prowlers with cloaking devices, though retro-engineering this technology from older Sith ships has proven difficult, and meeting power demand for them even more so. After initial construction was complete, the Faustus wasn't immediately commissioned. Instead, as already mentioned, it served as a research platform in a year long prototyping phase, during which time recommendations were made for subsequent Prowlers. During this time, Faustus had not been christened with its name, instead functioning under its hull designation (SSNR-65). After its prototyping phase ended, the Faustus was almost immediately drafted by Diktat Jet'Almeara and Taaru Masako to effect the search for the Leyline. During the planning phases, Masako proposed the name "Faustus" after a Thruvaran story featuring an eponymous hero that gambles with fate and his soul, but achieves transcendence in the end. While not yet officially commissioned or christened, the the name "Faustus" has already stuck. Despite this, the Faustus will be given both her commission and her benediction during a launching ceremony soon. The Faustus's journey has yet to begin. But the nature of the trip, her crew and the ship itself foresee a distinguished career of a fine ship of the line.
