Gor closeded the file he had been reading on his datapad closed pushing it to the edge of his desk and ran his fingers over his face and tugged on his lips. It had been a trying time at the office lately, for many reasons including the fact that the senate had not selected a New Chief of State yet.
There was a lot to do and although Gor was quite experienced in this line of work he was a little overwhelmed. As per his Agency's name a bit of information gathering was required but as always it would need to be done carefully, people were increasingly cautious.
Dropping his hand to the Comm built into his desk he buzzed his secretary, "Miss Parks? Could you have Special Threat Division send someone over here, please. I need to see Agent Rath."
"Right away, Admiral." She promptly replied.
"And Miss Parks? Just send her when she arrives please, thank you.
"Right away, Sir." Mary Parks was the recent daughter-in-law of one of Gor's friends from the fleet and had moved from Naboo to be with her husband, himself a Marine, and had needed a job while he was deployed. There were a number of benefits to this, one of them being he had known before hiring her just how efficient she could be.
Admiral Vultack picked his datapad up and began to read through it on a number of reports that he was collecting from the senior analysts. Some of the these reports seemed to have an obvious intent, such as a large one from Tactical Analysis that gave the Known and Verified, Unknown but logical, Unknown but Likely, and Conjectural locations as well as tactical abilities of a number of forces both Hostile and neutral to the GFFA. Another was a report concerning the level of Grand Theft in the shipyards of the galaxy both inside and outside the GFFA's borders as well as theft of personal ships from the owner's pad, home, or other normal storage palce.
While the admiral read through his reports their and analysis Miss Parks had called the other side of the building and left a message for Agent Rath.

Agent Buula Rath walked back to her desk after giving a report to her supervisor. "The Director has been asking for some weird things lately, She thought to herself. This latest one had been on the likelihood and impact of a possible rebellion against the senate based on Anti-Jedi Sentiment and similarly on the likelihood and impact of a rebellion based on Pro-Jedi Sentiment with the assumption of the senate acting in the opposite way of the rebellion in both cases.
When she got back to her desk she saw the light blinking on her Comm unit. Thumbing it on she brought up to listen to the message and her a girlish voice of Admiral Vultack's new secretary. A private meeting with the Director was not unheard of and Rath was high enough placed that she had had a number of meetings with him both alone and with other agents. She dropped her Comm into her pocket and walked down the corridor toward lift and descended to Intelligence Operation Command.
She walked away from the lift and turned into a small room that adjoined the Director's office in the center of the building, Knocking on the door as she entered she stepped up to the smiling, Miss Parks' desk. "Good Afternoon, Miss Parks. You left a message saying that the Director wanted to speak with me."
"That's right. He said to just go right in, so it must be important." she replied as she waved her toward the door.
Rath walked up the Director's closed door and knocked before she opened the door and stepped into Admiral Valtack's office. "Agent Rath reporting, sir," she said from the door with not quite military precision.

The aging Director looked up at the Shi'ido in the doorway. "Ah, Agent Rath, please come in." He said gesturing to the chair across from his desk and putting his datapad back into its charging and connection cradle. Typing across the keyboard projected across his desk he called up the report he wanted to share with the Agent. This one was a report about the DJO fleets surrounding Corellia granted parts were conjectural but for the most part it was accurate. The Director was a bit scared about the fact that the biggest and greatest weapon in the galaxy was sitting in the hands of a bunch of disgruntled force users. This combined with the report he had gotten from Agent Rath' team made him think that if the force user rebelled it was cause massive damage to the GA and the DJO would likely be sympathetic to the rebels cause. Therefore the Director had a two goals. One he must stop the senate from at least appearing to be so harsh to those with the ability to manipulate the Force. The second was to take Centerpoint Station and hold it, and the system, or to destroy it beyond use. Once the field agent had closed the door and sat down the director did two things first he flipped a switch under his desk that turned on a device which hindered, and nearly stopped, the use of wirless transmitters and recievers and emitted noise above and below the normal hearing range for a human, so that neither himself nor Agent Rath would be bothered. Next Admiral Vultack flipped another switch which that turned on a projector to his right so that he could show the reports to the Agent. Finally he started to explain his ideas to the Agent, concerning the DJO, Centerpoint, and Force users in general. His final point was to explaing to Rath that he would like to plant her in the organization to make this possible. "Do you have any questions, Agent? This is a very dangerous task I am assigning you, but I believe that you can do it. You do have some abilities that might help you blend in easier than some.

Buula was only slightly suprised at recieving a mission briefing. Admiral Vultack was well known to keep a rather informal atmosphere in office. She sat for a moment digesting the information that had been given her and silently congratulated herself at various points for having correctly guessed or suspected exactly as she was told. She looked from the projector screen back to the Director. "Well firstly, how long would I be under? Is this just a snoop and shoot or is this long term? Also, who I report to, Ongoing Operations or Special Threats Division? And finally, please tell me that I get new equipment."

The Director laughed as he started to answer her, "Well this is definitely not a snoop and scoot. You'll be under for a long while. And as to who you answering to that gets a bit complicated. Technically you'll still be asigned to Special Threats but the budgeting for this is under Ongoing Ops. But that won't mean anything for you though. You will be reporting directly to me."
Admiral Vultack reached into one of the lower drawers on his desk and pulled out a sheaf of holodocuments. Sliding them across to her he explained, "These are all of your new records, Birth Certificate from Tralus, diploma from a Corellian secondary school, a degree in cryptography from Coronet University and a second degree from the University of Pangalactic Cultural Studies on Lorrd. Also in there you will find your Identichip, bank records, and work and family history. You'll be a university student returning home after a recent graduation." He stood up and turned off the switches under his desk, "If you'd folow me." He walked around the desk and opening the door for Buula escorted her out.

"Of course, sir." She answered as she stood and accepted the folder of documents. Agent Rath followed the director as he led her back out of the office and toward the turbolift. As they descended she mentally re-ran the conversation so far. GAIS wanted to to capture or destroy the largest and most powerful weapon in the galaxy; and Admiral Vultack had selected her for the job.

Gor Vultack stepped out of the lift and led Agent Rath down a cooridor near the lowest official level of the GAIS building. This was where, among other things, agents requesitioned and were issued new or replacement equipment. He looked over his shoulder at her and answered her earlier question, "And yes, you will be getting new toys; and since this is my pet project after all, you can have what ever you like down here. Oh, except for a ship of conspicuous weaponry, they wouldn't match your cover ID."
As he was speaking he walked toward a door at the far end of the cooridor and slid his Identichip in the reader near where a doorhandle would normally be. When the light flashed to green he leaned forward to get a good scan on the Iris Cam. Once finished the door opened and then snapped closed behind him as his weight triggered a sensor behind the door.

Buula laughed at his last statement all the harder because she was tired of getting the poodoo normally assigned to her department. She walked to the door and copied the director's actions to get inside. She stepped into the brightly lit room and, as the door once more snapped shut, headed for the left handed wall which was covered in handguns. It had both slugthrowers and blaster. From the rack she pulled own two microblasters, which were invisible to most weapon's scanners, and a Scatterblaster which would be difficult for someone to block with a lightsaber. She continued around the room picking up various items so that when finished she had: 2 microblasters, 1 scatterblaster, a security override kit, 2 disposable comlinks, 1 SB-20 droid and 1 each GAIS issued encrypted comlink and datapad. Turning to look at the director again she asked, "So how long until I leave, and where first?"

The director chuckled softly at her enthusiasm. He walked over to the far side of the room from where Buula had first gone. There on a shelf he picked out a stack of datacards concerning her 'studies'. Handing these to her he said, "I want you to study these for a while. You do need to be a passible graduate." He was finished with her for the moment and giving the obligatory farewell he left for the lift. Once there he mentally went over his list of goals tapping his right index finger on the fingers of his left hand he thought throught them. First was to get a spy onto Corellia, Second send an emmisary to the Jedi Council without the Senate or CoS knowing, Third find out about the GA's research, and lastly set up a meeting with the CoS. "I'd better get busy I've only started on the first, the second should be started soon, but the third I haven't worked at yet, and the fourth can't happen until the third is done." He walked out of the lift and toward his office. As he approached Miss Parks he stopped and asked her, "Miss Parks, could you get Special Threats to send me another Agent?" "Right away, sir. She answered promptly and picked her comm. Walking the rest of the way into his office he dropped into his chair and relaxed for a moment before going over the next mission that he was doing for his own curiosity. At least Buula's could be made to seem important to the GA. Spying on other GA agencies however could not be glossed over as easily.

Buula thanked the Admiral and took a seperate lift back to her desk. Once there she pulled a few of her personal items and with the help of her appropriated SB-20 droid got all of her new 'toys' into her airspeeder so she could go home and study her new field of knowledge.

Gor cursed as he saw what had happened. Due to a govermental mix-up Buula's cover ID had been flagged as the GA's choice to send with the Corellians on some stupid scientific mission. He cursed again, this came from so far up that he couldn't undo it. He dictated and sent a message to his agent explaining the situation and the change in her travel plans. He also advised her again to continue to study as it would be more important than ever now.

Gor recieved a call from his agents sent to the Jedi. After it is finally routed to him he spoke with the lead agent and told him that Buula would not be going to centerpoint. He then told them to see if they could get a Jedi to do so. Terminating the call he decided that he might just call it a day soon it was getting late.

Gor walked into the GAIS building out of a beautiful Coruscant mornign and didn't even bother going to his office. He needed to get work on this started now.
He walked straight back into the confrence room and found the team he had commed ahead to have assembled. It consisted of a half dozen different Agents and all but one of them were less than half his age. The team he had prepared was those agents pulled from various places in his agency that specialized in Holonet and Cyber work.
He walked in closed the door and activated a pocket comm and sensor jammer. Once he had thumbed it on and set it on the table he remained standign at the head of the table shere the others were seated and waiting. "Good Morning Ladies and Gentleman, thank you for meeting me here this morning. I have job that needs to be done and - I must admit - I can not do it. I have assembled the six of you in the hopes that you will be able to do so."
A thin Bothan whispered to the human woman beside him, "I think he finally just admitted to being old!" he laughed.
Admiral Vultack turned and looked at the Bothan"No, Agent Sei'lya. I did not say that. I said, I can't do the job I have for you. How many of you are aware that we have a laboratory here on Coruscant under Galactic Alliance sponsorship?"
When the only ones to raise their hands were Agent Sei'lya and the woman, Agent Teroch, Gor laughed, "Yes I know the two of you know about it. I personally assigned you two to work on the security for it remember? For the rest of you, have thes to jokers fill you in on the relevancies, because it's really not important. I want to get video and audio from there, live or recorded whatever you can get me. And I need it soon people were on a tight schedule."
He looked around at the six agents around the table and hoped once more that not only that they could do what he asked, but also that it was unnecessary. As his gaze came around the table it settled on Agent Teroch, "You were in charge of the last assignment dealing with this place, so I'm putting you at the head this time, too."
He made for the door, leaving the jammer in place, as he was walking through he stuck his head back in and added, "And Teroch, keep him in line would you, please?" With that final barb he headed out to his office and the day's work. While the Galactic Alliance wasn't at war with anyone that didn't mean there was no one to spy on.

Admiral Vultack heaved out a sigh as he read through the report he had been sent. On top pf everything else that he was doing outside of his job requirements he still had the day-to-day operations to handle. Mental going through his list of personal objectives he came to the conclusion that none of his other mission's could be started until either he heard from Agent Jond again or the techies he had left in the confrence room finished what they were doing. "Oh well," he thought, "I might as well make use of the time their giving me by finishing up with these." He tapped through to the next report, this one detailed the analysis and, to his mind, lack of evidence to support the theory that the GA's economy was being maipulated by an oligarchy of buisness owners both inside and outside the borders. It named CEC-KDY, Dangerous Waves, Xucaphra, Zaltin, Thundercraft Automaton Industries, and the Corporate Sector Authority among others. He rolled his eyes as he scanned down the list, some of these hadn't been heard of on the galactic scale in quite some time.
