Although her attack failed to disarm him, Mercy hadn't really expected it to - she wasn't fighting some no account trainee after all. Still the fact that he once more repeated his initial move made Mercy wary, clearly there was some sort of trick awaiting her should she maneuver wrong, and she danced backwards out of his range.
Although she couldn't read his mind and get a glimpse of this trick - Teagan was far to strong will for such an easy trick, Mercy could perhaps make him question his decision to use it. With her empathic abilities Mercy let loose a wave of unsureness and indecision, was this really..really the move he wanted to make right now? perhaps he ought to wait for later. Mercy made sure this impulse was fairly strong - and the sith tattoo found such a use pleasing coming alive with a slight twinge to amplify the effects.
That wasn't exactly a good thing...but Mercy had somewhat expected it, the tattoo liked to try and place a darker tint on everything she did...and it was sometimes difficult work to reign it in, but Mercy had become accustomed to it over time and had worked out somewhat of a working relationship with it - for lack of a better description.
With Teagan hopefully occupied with indecision Mercy brought forth her own attack moving sideways and quickly lashing out with a swift upwards saber strike which she hoped would catch him off guard and subsequently knock him off balance when he went to defend.

Teagan stayed in his lunging position as Mercy danced away, allowing the learners and padawans that had gathered to take in the perfect example of a lunge in the Makashi form of lightsaber combat. Slowly he returned to the beginning stance before taking a few cautious steps forward. That's when Mercy's mental attack came.
Teagan stopped in his tracks as his mind was filled with indecision and paranoia. The feelings were short lived as Teagan's mastery of Makashi came to the forefront of his mind. Lightsaber combat was far more than blade to blade. It often delved into mind against mind and Makashi was a supreme example of the mental state a practitioner had to be in to make use of the form. It called for the user to be completely sure of their actions, almost to the point of arrogance. This allowed Teagan to realize these thoughts were not his own so he simply let them flow in and out of his body, not effecting him in the slightest.
"Now that's dirty," he said with a grin. He pivoted on his lead foot, his rear foot sliding behind him, so that his sword arm would remain the first and foremost thing Mercy would encounter. Minimum movement often offered maximum maneuverability, especially in this case.
Teagan cocked his elbow up into the air, aiming the tip of his saber towards the floor, so that when Mercy's attack comes it glides along his blade, allowing him to parry her strike off to the side.
With his arm now stretched out perpendicularly to his torso Teagan equalizes the distribution of his weight between his feet and uses the added torque his shoulder allows to send a fierce horizontal strike at Mercy's neck.

Mercy smiled slightly, some of the Jedi were not fond of such mind tricks, the use of emotion against an opponent to some masters seemed dangerously close to the dark side...but Mercy had no such qualms and had used her empathic abilities for the betterment of the Jedi and her own missions many times. One had to work with the tools given them after all.
"No, if I wanted to play dirty I would have used fear rather then uncertainty" Though he had not second guessed himself like she had hoped he had stopped and given her a few moments to set up her previous attack, and although he deflected her strike Mercy wasn't entirely displeased.
When Teagan lashed out with his fierce strike Mercy was ready and recovered the glancing path her saber had taken after Teagans deflection with a quick rotation of her wrist, bringing it up as though to block Teagans strike...but Mercy wasn't entirely through with her tricks and as she moved to block she purposefully moved somewhat slower then necessary - it was a chancy risk, but Mercy was trusting on Teagans desire not to actually hurt her - in fact she was somewhat banking on it.
Mercy made sure to place a shocked look on her face as he struck out - as though surprised with the speed of the attack which combined with the slightly slow response of her saber block and flood of worry she suddenly released into the air would - she hoped - make him check his attack.
Of course she wasn't just banking on this - she wasn't completely foolish and her appearance of vulnerability was just that - a facade, even as she hinted that his attack might, just might succeed in beheading her Mercy had already allowed the force to enfold her, waiting as the patterns swirled together, waiting until they had spun so close that the very last second of possible escape was upon her before she took it, dropping to the ground and whirling to sweep her leg out in hopes of knocking his feet out from under him.

"Uncertainty leads to fear," he reminds her as he cocks his wrist back, as he had planned at the beginning of his swing, so that if Mercy chose not to move his blade would come to rest horizontally under her chin. His head shot down as she ducked, however, following her to the ground. He wasn't completely unprepared, having felt her gather the Force around her so he simply jumped into the air above her avoiding her attempted leg sweep.
Teagan turned in mid-jump allowing him to face Mercy while landing behind her. His feet hit the floor with a dull thud, his heels millimeters from breaking the ring that restricted the combatants and he held his blade out so that the tip would be pointing directly at Mercy's neck if she didn't react quick enough.

"Only in those who can't control themselves" Mercy replied "I can be uncertain about something without becoming afraid of it and most people with strong convictions can too" She continued and while Mercy believed in the Jedi and their code with all her heart she also believed it couldn't always be taken in the literal sense. But that was perhaps just one more piece of what made her unconventional.
the moment Teagan leapt and his feet cleared her head Mercy was moving, rolling forward and gaining her feet before she whirled about and brought her saber around to meet his with a clash where the base of her neck had been just moments before "And even fear...can sometimes be a healthy response once in a while. People are smart to be afraid of some things, trouble only come's when they let that fear take them down dangerous paths. Somehow..I'm pretty sure you could handle it if I did decide to douse the room in fear. But I'd be chatting with the council about it for sure..and thats a pain" She smiled.

Teagan held his saber in a lock with Mercy's and smiled back. "Thank you for that lesson Master Kardel," he said teasingly. He slid his lightsaber up and down the length of Mercy's to taunt her. As the smell of static overpowered their noses Teagan leaned forward. "But I'm the one with seniority. Remember?"
Suddenly Teagan held his free hand palm out in Mercy's face and sent a powerful Force Blast at her, the concussive force sounding like a muffled explosion in the surrounding area.

Mercy didn't really have time to respond to Teagans comment as he held out his palm and let loose with a TK blast, Mercy was not however about to be flung across the circle, nor was she entirely sure she could match the power of his without the suitable emotions to power it - such as she had done to save chase from the Armored man so very long ago. Mercy's strengths were very much dependent on emotions.
Though she didn't have time to work up the energy to counter it completely Mercy was able to direct what happened to her because of it, mirroring his motion nearly as soon as she realized what he was about to do Mercy let loose with her own TK, but angled hers so that it would glance off his and allowed the block of this maneuver to fling her into the air, a fling that since she knew it was coming she was able to control and allowing it to glance off her shoulder twisted with the invisible blow, rotating in the air and used the extra speed gained to follow through with a swift strike at Teagan as she landed and came about to face him.
"Of course master...how could I forget" she responded at long last with a smug look - after all she had managed to keep him for throwing her across the room.

"Blond moment," he offered as he held his blade up and parried Mercy's speedy strike cleanly away.
Being sure to keep his right side facing her Teagan began to circle around her, freeing up his range of movement. Now that the ring was no longer tight on his heals he entered the proper Makashi stance again and held his blade up in a defensive posture. "Now Jedi Freestrike," he says pompously. "Shall we show the younglings what you can really do?" He draws an X in the air with his blade, executing a Makashi flourish and invites her in for an attack.

"If only the Council would except that excuse..." Mercy lamented as Teagan circled about making sure to keep him in sight until he stopped and with a flourish invited her forward. She didn't give him a chance to reflect on his invitation, rushing forward in a burst of speed as though to attack and strike on his left, at the last second however she rotated her wrist and swept her blade up and around in a circle for a strike to his right.

Teagan grinned as mercy rushed him and he dropped his blade down to his side and transferred his weight onto the balls of his feet. When Mercy's attack comes he's all but unprepared for the switch.
Teagan raises his blade and bats away Mercy's strike with ease, turning what she had meant to be a hack into a glancing blow that would most likely keep her momentum going. At the same time he steps forward and to his left, moving clockwise with Mercy at the center.
With his blade still high in the air, Teagan's next maneuver is made all the more easier and takes but the blink of an eye. He twists his wrist so that his fingers were facing the ceiling and he lowers his blade so that if Mercy did not stop her momentum would carry her through his blade at the neck.

Mercy - like any smart person would in such a situation - puts on the brakes when suddenly faced with the business end of Teagan's saber, however her momentum is such that she is not able to fully arrest her forward motion and has to dart sideways at the last second, close enough that if she were any close the heat from Teagan's blade would surely register and with lightsabers - when you were that close - it was far too close.
But she was still able to avoid being stabbed through the neck which was surely an upside to the predicament and rather then dart out and away from Teagan, Mercy choose to move towards him, letting her momentum carry her towards him and with all hope inside the viable swing of his saber arm where she lashed out not with the blade but the hilt of her saber towards his elbow in hopes knocking his saber from hand.

Teagan was mildly surprised with Mercy's response. He had expected her to do some sort of a limbo move, but the beauty of Form II was the sheer amount of options you were given.
Teagan would have smiled had he had the time when Mercy's hilt went for his elbow. To compensate he deactivated his blade and cocked his arm to the side. Mercy's hilt collided painfully with the inside of Teagan's elbow. At the same time he grabbed her wrist, forcefully, with his free hand and dug his fingertips into the tendons located on the inside of her wrist, hoping to make her drop her own hilt.
With Mercy's weapon hand temporarily in his grasp Teagan stabbed out with the business end of his lightsaber hilt for her throat, his arms now criss crossed, in an attempt to hold the cold metal against her neck and bring the duel to an end.

Mercy was far to stubborn to actually drop her saber when Teagan's fingers dug into her tendons, but she did let out a little huff in response because well - it did hurt. Considering she had just whacked him on the elbow however she wasn't going to point fingers and when the cold metal of his hilt touched her neck she released the activation switch on her saber and ceded him the duel.
"Really Teagan if you wanted to hold my hand you could have just asked" she teased him and then on a more serious note added "Good duel, nice to see you looking something other then mopey lately"

"The match goes to Jedi Skywalker by way of submission," came the instructor's booming voice. He clapped along with the crowd that had gathered before going off to discuss with some of the students how Teagan had won without the blade.
Teagan grinned as he let go of Mercy's wrist and pulled his hilt away from her neck. "Sorry Mercy," he said as he rubbed his elbow. He could already start to feel it bruise. "You may be pink, but you're not pink enough for my tastes. And thanks." He finished and patted her on the arm.

Agent Jond turned to see who had spoken to him and was shocked by what he saw. His first impression was that this being couldn't possible be a Jedi, he looked freakish with the cranial horns and tatoos. Luckily M'ddie recognized the Weapons Master as a Zabrak. The Gran spoke up at his partners silence, "Thank you Master Keeth. We actually came hoping to see a lightsabre duel. Would that be possible, sir?"
At that moment, Bames was snapped out of his shock by the only thing that could do so. He was entranced by a beautiful women with streaks of pink hair that walked into the room. He went so far as to turn turn away from the Jedi Master to watch her as she began a duel with another Jedi. Agent Jond smacked his partner's shoulder to get his attention, "Hey Eurphy! Eurphy, check it out! She can fight, huh?" Continueing and ignoring any response that might have been given, he looked at Master Keeth again and asked, "Who are those two?
M'ddie was indignant that his conversation with the Master had been interupted by a rather rude slap. He turned to look at what Bames was indicating just in time to see the male stab the sabre at his more... eccentric opponent. He looked at Bames and mocked, "Your right, HE sure can!" He rolled his three eyes and apologized to the Jedi Master.
