History: During varying points in history, Dromund Kaas was held by both the Old Sith Empire - around 5,000 BBY - and Kaan's New Sith Empire nearly four thousand years later, although Kaan, leader of the Brotherhood of Darkness, was one of only two Sith to know of the planet's location. However, it was effectively abandoned until it became a refuge for rogue Sith Lord Darth Millennial sometime after 990 BBY. Having rejected the Rule of Two, a doctrine that insisted there only be two Sith at any given time, Millennial sought to begin a new dark side religion on the swampy planet, beginning what would later be known as the Dark Force. Followers of this religion, the so-called Prophets of the Dark Side, would rule the planet for years, until its rediscovery by one Darth Sidious sometime before the onset of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY. Sidious, after enlisting the Prophets to his service, kept the planet's existence a secret. He would later use it as a testing ground for his dark side adepts, and the planet remained known only to those few.

These events, however, took place outside of the public eye, and was unknown to the Jedi Order. Believed by most to be a myth, a story used by young Padawans to frighten each other, for years only rumors were heard of Dromund Kaas in the greater galaxy, and belief in its existence was held only by cultists and anti-Jedi conspiracy theorists. However, during the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Yoda, while investigating the deletion of several planetary systems from the Jedi Archives, discovered that not only was Dromund Kaas real, but the more unsettling news that it was within the boundaries of the Old Sith Empire.

It is believed that Yoda may have personally investigated the system, however any such mission would have been known only to the highest ranks of the Jedi, and any records of the project have been lost. Despite this level of secrecy, the 327th Star Corps would later fight a battle on Dromund Kaas during the Clone Wars.

After the rise and fall of the Empire, Dromund Kaas was once more forgotten, until Jedi Knight Kyle Katarn learned of the planet from ancient inscriptions in 9 ABY. Abruptly ending the training of his pupil, Mara Jade, Katarn located the system and battled many Sith abominations to reach the Dark Force Temple, where he succumbed to the temptations of the dark side.

After he fell out of contact, Jade began to worry for the Jedi. Setting out for Dromond Kaas herself, Jade worked her way through both local monsters and many Sith traps, eventually finding Katarn's shuttle, and later the Temple itself. Within the ancient structure Jade fought stranger, more powerful foes than even the swamps had offered; strange, animated statues and the resurrected corpses of long-dead Sith rose to meet her, along with the dark side apparition known as Dark Mara. After a long, winding chase through the Temple's catacombs, Jade finally confronted Katarn. After dueling for a time, Jade lowered her weapon in surrender—an act of faith in Katarn's heart. Seeing this display, Katarn realized that he could not kill his own friend and ally, and was able to overthrow the dark taint of the Temple, and free himself from the clutches of the dark side, fleeing the planet with Jade.

Katarn, along with Luke Skywalker and other Jedi, was later able to piece together some of the planet’s history. Wary after Katarn's fall, Skywalker decided that Dromund Kaas was a danger that could wait until the New Jedi Order became stronger. With the aid of New Republic Intelligence, he was able to ensure that Dromund Kaas stayed a myth, as it had for millennia.

Several centuries after Skywalker left the planet, the exiled Sith mystic and self-styled Dark Lord of Betrayal, Chyvonne Hakkeber, arrived on Dromund Kaas and revitalized the Dark Force Temple, filling its hallways with her own twisted servants and the by-products of her dark experiments and manipulations. With her death at the hands of her apprentice, the assassin Ghosteyes, otherwise known as the Jedi Healer Thera Quyen, the Temple has become over run with abominations, the hallways dangerous to all who enter, a sheer death trap for those not prepared to face the full fury of the Darkside uncontrolled…

Thera landed her X-wing in a clearing not far from the Temple, but not close enough that any of the things inside the Temple could see or hear her either. Tapping her foot impatiently she waited to see if the Sith would show up or not.[/font][/size]

[Heero Treys]

Heero exited hyper space and started a shallow obit.
"So this is the planet that has her worried. Don't look like much. R9, see if our new friend is here yet. And look for a landing spot." he said as he got up from the pilot seat and walked into the cargo hold and pulled out his weapons locker.
He was going through it trying to decide on what fire power to bring along when R9 beeped for him.
"OK there she is. Let's say hello shall we. Begin decent protocalls." he said as he sat down in the pilots chair. he maneuvered the craft into the atmosphere and to wards where Thera had landed. he landed nearby with a shudder. He lowered the entry ramp. Then he got up and walked to it, once there he waved her over.

She walked over to the entry ramp and looked at him as she strapped her belt with both lightsabers over her flight suit, not bothering to take the time to change back into her Jedi robes after the journey. "Let's get going if we're going," she said quietly, her golden gaze back to it's lower yellowish setting. She had no need of her darkness at this moment, though that would change the second she entered the Temple, she had no doubt. [/font][/size]

[Heero Treys]

"Is that all your taking?" he asked

[Thera Quyen]

"I'm a Jedi," Thera retorted, pulling her long brown hair back in a severe braid before she pinned it to the back of her head, showing off her pointed ears and neck tattoos. "I have a lightsaber and the Force as my ally, what more do I need?" [/font][/size]

[Heero Treys]

"Food? Water? J.I.S.H.'s? The Force going to give those to you?" he asked as he strapped a backpack on and started checking his weapons. His two slug throwers, two WESTAR-34 blasters, and then his light sabers. And then he holstered them around his waist.
"Well?" he asked

[Thera Quyen]

"I don't know about you but I wasn't planning about staying that long. If you're worried about it, however, there should be plenty of supplies within the temple. What I know about Darth Traya paints her as a hoarder, so we should find something there." Tightening her belt once more, Thera jumped down from the ramp and headed off toward the swamp, pausing once to look over her shoulder at Heero. [/font][/size]

[Heero Treys]

"Every thing is assumed and nothing is known." He said to himself as he grabbed an extra pack from inside his ship and he walked down the ramp.
"R9, lock her up and wait here until I get back" he said when he turned back at the bottom. Then he turned and followed her into the swamp.

Listening to Heero, Thera felt a twinge of longing for her own droid, but Ezio was safely left behind in the Temple, somewhere she'd left him more and more since the birth of her daughter. If, as was possible, she was killed or captured on one of her missions, Ezio had been left behind with all the information Nessa might need one day. I know more than you realize, she thought to herself, but said nothing, just moved through the swamp until they reached another clearing, not far from the Temple. Thera felt her Jedi senses tingling, and she thumbed on both lightsabers - hers and Master Sigal's - and spun on the spot, cutting down the Sith spawn creature that hadn't been there a moment ago. Immediately, twenty more burst into the clearing, surrounding the two Force users. "Well, I think the welcoming party just found us," she muttered under her breath, backing up towards Heero, using all six of her senses against the mass of Sith spawn.[/font][/size]

[Heero Treys]

"About time, I was just starting to miss the cantina." he smiled as he dropped his packs and drew one of his light sabers with his biomechanical hand, and with is other he pulled one of his slug throwers out of it's holster as one charged in. Heero applied pressure to the triiger and put a slug square in it's head and it dropped.
"Well that's good to know." he said as he twisted his wrist on his prostetic hand and one barrel one the inside and outide of his forearm slip out.
"Now lets see if this works too." he laughed as flame shot out from one of the barrels into another chargeing abomination.

Six of the Sith spawn ran at each of them, leaving ten still milling around the edges of the clearing waiting to see what exactly would happen.

Holding her own darkness in check, Thera swallowed her fear and used the Force to throw three of the Sith spawn against a nearby tree, breaking the necks of two and stunning another. Both lightsabers moving so fast they were no more than blurs, she cut down the first of the remaining three Sith spawn, ducking as the second swung at her, its fist glancing off her shoulder and leaving a large bruise. Hissing with the pain, she struck back at the abomination, cutting deep into the monster's thigh, felling it before she stabbed at the sixth, shoving the blade through its shoulder, a painful and debilitating but not lethal move that might buy them time if nothing else...[/font][/size]

[Heero Treys]

"So you can fight too." he laughed as he stepped fore ward and held out his bio mechanical hand.
"Let's see just how good they really are." he said as five rushed at him.
He smiled as he let the darkness take him. He gave into his hate, his anger, his passion. He felt the dark side flow into him. It felt like his every cell had been lit on fire. He liked it, he pulled more and more of the force to himself until he could hold it in no more.
His smile turned from slight to wide, his canines grinding against each other, his eyes wide with glee.
He twist his wrist again and the barrels slid back into hiding and he drew his other light saber and activated it with the snap and hiss that was classic of that weapon. He charged head first into the first of the creatures.
The thing swung high, Heero ducked low and spun into the sith spawn and slashed into its right leg, severing it mid thigh, then he used force push and flung him into a tree, breaking it's back. before it hit the ground another one was on top of Heero. It grabbed him in a massive bear hug and began to squeeze the life from him, or it tried to. Heero used force repulse and sent the one holding him and two others that were close by flying. The one that was holding him hit a tree head first and head was cracked open, the two other's hit the ground and were stunned. The last one lead into the air and tried to land on Heero, he used force grip and caught him in mid air, mere seconds before it would have hit him, Heero threw one of his light sabers and impaled the beast in the neck. He called it back to his hand and threw the dying creation to the side.
The two he had stunned were now back up and coming at him again.
"Well, they get a ten for effort, but a one for effectiveness." he said as he deactivated the light saber in his bio mechanical hand and put it back on his belt clip.
He held out his hand with out stretched fingers and used force lightning on the first one, then it jumped from first one to the second one. Heero kept up the attack until he felt the life slip away from there mis-formed sith spawned bodies.
"Almost forgot about you." he said as he was breathing slightly heavier then normal. He had noticed the first one that he attacked was crawling toward him.
Heero walked over and gave it a massive kick to the head, crushing the skull and splashing brain matter over the trees and ground behind the creation.

Thera watched as the Sith spawn she had wounded crawled back to the safety of the group still standing around them, watching silently as she and Heero fought off the last of their attackers. Injured and tense, she twirled both lightsabers, letting the gold light flow into her eyes as the remaining ten Sith spawn rushed at her and Heero, five towards each one of them. Crouching down, she spread her hands, using the Force to make her lightsabers fly in a circle around her, cutting down three of the rushing abominations like butter. Reclaiming her lightsabers, she spun to face the fourth monstrosity, flinching back as the beast swiped its claws across her face, leaving four shallow but bleeding gashes running from her left eyebrow down to her right cheekbone. Hissing with rage, she let the color fully fill her eyes, and swung wildly at the charging Sith spawn, decapitating it where it stood. That left only the one Sith spawn, and the five Heero was fighting. Turning her back on her Sith ally, she faced down the final Sith spawn... [/font][/size]

[Heero Treys]

"They don't give up do they? Well if it is death they crave they will have their fill with their own." he laughed as five charged at him. Heero drew the force to him again. He drew both light sabers and held them in a reversed grip. He used the force to amplify his already staggering speed, thanks to his mechanical legs. He charged head first into the lot of the creatures. He dealt with the first one easily enough with a slash that cleaved him into two at mid stomach.
The next one gave him a bit more of a fight when Heero tried to do the same thing it jumped into the air and landed on his back as he past it. It started to beat Heero's back, each time nearly breaking his vertebrae in different places. Heero Force Screamed in anger
"GET OFF OF ME!"
The ground shook with his booming roar and the creature grabbed its head in pain, blood trickled out of one of its ears.
Heero used its pause to his advantage and reached out with the force and picked up a nearby fallen tree trunk and flung it into the abomination on his back. As the trunk hit the Sith Spawn Heero heard the snap and crunch of its bones breaking and felt the life leave its body.
Heero had barely gotten to his feet when two others where on him swinging blindly. He dodged the first few attacks by falling back. Then when he had enough distance he ignited his light sabers and charged again as they did the same. The one that he met first swung with a powerful punch that would have knocked him out with ease and most likely would have given him a concussion had he not met its punch met with one of Heero's with his hand that was made of phrik. The beast roared in pain and swiped with his other hand, Heero swung the same hand to the side and his blade cut through and up its arm slicing its hand and a chunk of its arm up the bicep off. The roars of pain continued as the beast tried to turn and run, as it turned it smacked face first into the next one that was charging in to try and kill Heero. Both staggered back-wards away from each other. Heero threw both of his light sabers and the blades impaled both creatures in the chest. Then they fell down. The last one was pressing the offense before he could call his sabers back to him. It tackled Heero hard and they both it the ground, knocking the breathe from his lungs. The beast was on top of Heero slashing wildly, Heero's shirt was now bloody strips of cloth. Heero screamed in pain as the creature tore into his chest. After about five swipes Heero gained the upper hand and caught one of it's hands, then when it went to swipe with the other he grabbed that one too, both at the wrist. Heero used the power of his mechanical hand to crush the spawn's wrist, then the pulled it's hand off and out of the broken socket. Black blood sprayed from the wound. The creature no less determined to end Heero's life though. If anything it was more determined now the ever. It tried to bring its gapping maw down to bite Heero's face off. Heero quickly grabbed its neck and began to squeeze the life from it. This only seemed to make it more and angrier as it was able to bring its jaw mere inches from his face. Heero pushed back with all the power he could muster, but it was no good. He could only hold the beast were it was.
"blast it." he said as he clenched his hand harder and crushed its wind pipe, still it tried to eat Heero's face.
Heero fought his knees into the beast's chest and pushed with every thing he had. The creature flew back and off of Heero, but its throat stayed in Heero's hand. Heero sat up as more and more thick black blood sprayed from its throat. More blood spewed from its mouth as it exhaled the blood that was now slowly filling its lungs. After a few moments the beast began to walk forward again.
"Don't these things die?" he asked under is breathe as the beast came closer and closer. Then it fell forward on its chest at Heero's feet and all Heero heard was a gargling and then nothing as it stopped moving.
Heero was relieved, but in pain none the less. He winced as he lied down, his back badly bruised and his chest was gouged, though not bleeding hardly any more he touched one of the wounds and winced in pain.
"This is why a bring my pack." he said to himself as he got up and saw that Thera still had one to deal with.
"I'll jump in if it looks like she needs help." he said as he limped over to his pack. When he got there he sat down and pulled out a needle filled with bacta, some packs of simflesh, and a bottle of pain killers. He stuck the needle in his neck and pushed the plunger down. The thick fluid entered his body and he felt a bit better and he hoped that those thing's claws were not poisonous. The he popped open the pain killers and took a few. Then he watched Thera's fight with the beast. Waiting so he could either help her, or finish patching himself up.
